Popular streamer Kai Cenat recently was kicked out of a Walmart after being confronted by police.
Kai Cenat has become one of the biggest streamers in the world thanks to his celebrity-filled streams and gaming subathons, including tackling tough games like Minecraft in hardcore mode and Elden Ring, which resulted in him needing a therapist to deal with the final boss. While Kai Cenat has tens of millions of fans online, it seems like not everyone knows who he is in real life, leading to a Walmart customer calling the cops on him during a September 16, 2024 stream.
Here’s what happened when Kai Cenat went to a local Walmart.
On September 16, Kai Cenat and his fellow AMP squad member Chris “Chrisnxtdoor” did a real life stream while buying snacks at Walmart late at night which ended with a run-in with the police. The stream started off positive enough, with many fans recognizing him and getting excited to be on camera. But it all went south when a customer confronted the duo.
The IRL stream was interrupted when a man asked them to stop recording. In response, Kai Cenat and Chrisnxtdoor decided to check out with their snacks and leave, but they didn’t stop filming. In response, the man grabbed the camera. He apparently then called the police on Kai Cenat.
When the police showed up, Kai explained that they were asked to leave and agreed to buy their snacks and check out. He then told police that the man attempted to grab their camera. Even though Kai Cenat promised that they weren’t doing any pranks or disrupting shoppers, the cops told the streamers that people had asked them to stop filming. It seemed like the cops were initially not on Kai Cenat’s side.
Kai Cenat did not get arrested at Walmart, but he did have a long conversation with the police.
Police told Kai Cenat that he has to be “considerate of others” and to “be careful” with recording in public. But then the cops seemed to side with the streamers, saying that the hostile man made it sound like the two were fighting but that didn’t seem to be true. This led them to apologize to Kai Cenat for the man’s behavior.
In the end, Kai Cenat and Chrisnxtdoor were told to leave the Walmart but were not brought out in handcuffs. The trip and stream were cut short but the two streamers did get their snacks and were able to go home without getting in trouble.
