Twitch banned popular streamer Kai Cenat while he was streaming his new subathon, Mafiathon 2, and fans are wondering what he did to trigger the ban.
Kai announced he would start another month-long streaming marathon when the VShojo vtuber Ironmouse beat his record. Kai left no stone unturned and used many celebrities to tease and announce his upcoming event. This ranged from John Cena to Kim Kardashian being featured in the trailer. Kai Cenat also announced that he’d donate 20% of the revenue of his Mafiathon 2 to a school he’s building in Nigeria. The Mafiathon 2 started spectacularly and there were reports that the famous Canadian rapper Drake would also make an appearance.
However, Twitch banned Kai Cenat on the second day Mafiathon 2 and left fans wondering what happened.
Twitch likely banned Kai Cenat because the streamer was swatted while he was streaming.
Twitch is infamous for not sharing its reason for banning any streamers publicly. Kai Cenat expressed his confusion about his ban on Instagram Live. The streamer claimed he didn’t do anything bannable and didn’t know why he was banned.
However, Kai Cenat was swatted while he was live for his Mafiathon 2 event and police officers were visible on the stream. This is likely why Twitch banned the streamer from the platform.
Twitch bans streamers if they are swatted because of safety reasons, but they are typically unbanned within 24 hours. It isn’t uncommon for popular streamers to be swatted on stream as ill-intentioned pranksters want see the results and the reaction to their actions.
Kai Cenat explained that the person who called police told them someone in house had shot and killed their brother and then themself. The streamer elaborated that the fake report became more serious because of the location of the house where he’s streaming Mafiathon 2.
Twitch unbanned Kai Cenat after approximately just six minutes of banning him.
After Twitch banned Kai Cenat, his channel displayed the usual notification about it being suspended temporarily. However, the streamer and fans had no idea how long the ban will last and when the channel will be back.
The ban didn’t last long as the streamer went live again almost immediately after police officers left his house. Kai Cenat’s Twitch ban lasted approximately 6 minutes and 35 seconds. The streamer resumed the Mafiathon 2 subathon event as soon as the ban was lifted.
