Hololive essentially began as a tech demo for parent company Cover Corp’s 3D capture digital avatar technology. In September 2017, Tokino Sora debuted on YouTube and Niconico Douga. Her first stream garnered 13 viewers, many of whom were friends and associates of the idol. As of 2024, Hololive now boasts 87 million subscribers across dozens of members and generations. What started as a humble tech demo became the peak of the vtuber industry, with many fans citing Hololive as the reason they became vtuber fans.

What is Hololive Gen 3 EN?

Hololive Gen 3 EN Advent is a group of notorious criminals who escaped from The Cell, a prison made by the gods. 

holoAdvent debuted in July 2023, the generation following HoloCouncil. Hololive Gen 3 EN is notable for being the first group to host a duo under one channel, Fuwamoco. Hololive JP Usada Pekora called the pair “revolutionary” for Hololive.

Notably, the recently debuted Hololive Gen 4 EN has direct ties to Advent. Dubbed holoJustice, the five talents from Hololive EN’s latest generation tasked themselves with capturing Advent and returning them to The Cell. As with most vtuber lore after their debuts, these conflicts go by the wayside during collabs. Mostly.

Who are the members of Hololive Gen 3 EN?

The members of Hololive Gen 3 EN Advent are Shiori Novella, Koseki Bijou, Nerissa Ravencroft, Fuwawa Abyssgard, and Mococo Abyssgard. Each of the members has a backstory explaining the reason for their incarceration in The Cell. The reasons range from apocalyptic to strangely petty. Nevertheless, they are all united in the purpose of breaking out of prison.

Shiori Novella

Driven by her thirst for knowledge, Shiori Novella is “The Archiver.” She turns her favorite stories and treasured memories into bookmarks and saves them. By misfortune, she was found to have obtained forbidden knowledge within one of her stories and was imprisoned. 

Koseki “Biboo” Bijou

Formed from the crystallization of all forms of human emotion, Koseki Bijou is “The Jewel of Emotions.” Her ancient, mystic brilliance caused strife between the masses of the greedy, who fought over ownership of her. This led to her being imprisoned in secrecy, far from the reach of humans. 

Nerissa Ravencroft

With a deep love of song, Nerissa Ravencroft is “The Demon of Sound.” Her powerful love turned into a dark power that inhabited her singing, giving her music the potential to drive the entire world mad. The gods, fearful of her beautiful voice, decided to seal her away for eternity. 

Fuwawa Abyssgard

Fuwawa Abyssgard is the older half of FuwaMoco, a duo composed of herself and her twin, Mococo. As the fluffy older twin sister of The Demonic Guard Dogs, who were sealed away in The Cell for being a pain in the godly behind, Fuwawa Abyssgard is “The Fluffy One.”

The fuzzy younger twin sister of The Demonic Guard Dogs, who were sealed away in The Cell for being a pain in the godly behind, Mococo Abyssgard is “The Fuzzy One.” The rambunctious Mococo spent all her time imprisoned watching anime and playing games, often roping her older twin sister Fuwawa and their pet Pero in for more chaotic antics.
