EG struggles to reinvent

Jerax gets the axe, leaves Evil Geniuses

Jerax, two-time The International Champion, parts ways with Evil Geniuses.

He joined EG after a year long break post two consecutive TI victories in 2018 and 2019.

Fondly known for his impeccable plays on Earth Spirit, the veteran competed alongside EG for two seasons.

However, after EG’s dismal showing at the Stockholm Major 2022, change was imminent.

Jerax was the first player to get the axe, but looking at EG, it was inevitable.

Jerax’s removal signals EG’s struggle to reinvent themselves in a competition starved North American region.

The urge to improve is nearly absent due to lack of healthy competition or the fizzling competitive scene.
Meanwhile, the two-time TI champion is in search of a team; either as Pos.4/5 or as a coach.

Regardless of the outcome, it’ll be great to have Jerax actively involved in the scene.
