Danyell “TheDanDangler” Lanza is no stranger to Twitch bans, but the latest suspension may have made her the most banned streamer.
TheDanDangler has been streaming on Twitch since August 2019 to a relatively modest following and is currently a Twitch partner. Many of her streams revolve around games likes Apex Legends and competitive Call of Duty. However, she’s more well-known for being an adult content creator. Her more risque videos have long been skirting Twitch’s guidelines and may be one of the contributing reasons for her numerous bans from the platform.
With TheDanDangler getting banned yet again for as yet unknown reasons, here’s what’s known about the ban and her status at the most banned streamer.
October 2024 marks TheDanDangler’s tenth time getting banned from Twitch since 2021.
Most of her bans have lasted four days or less, with seven of her bans occurring in 2022 alone. Sharing the reason for bans is at the discretion of streamers. While TheDanDangler hasn’t shared all of the reasons, since-deleted tweets have shown that she regularly appeals the bans. Ultimately, none of the suspensions seem to stick and she continues returning to the stream.
TheDanDangler has taken the opportunity to market herself as the most banned streamer on X. She also linked to her OnlyFans account, where she reportedly makes tens of thousands every month. Although not among the most well-known, TheDanDangler is far from the only Twitch streamer to make the migration to OnlyFans.
TheDanDangler has not confirmed the reason for any of her penalties on the way to becoming the most banned streamer.
The streamer has attributed past bans to unfair enforcement of Twitch’s inappropriate dress code in a since-deleted social media post. For her seventh ban during a Halloween stream, Twitch admitted it incorrectly flagged her account. Inappropriate outfits and sexual content are a big reason for bans on Twitch, as vtubers are now learning. TheDanDangler has always seemed to walk a fine line on Twitch with adult content. Thus, she could have been flagged more than once for that reason.
However, others allege that at least one of the bans comes from illegal lottery laws. Many streamers will offer the potential to win a prize in exchange for a purchase of some sort, which is illegal to do in the United States. TheDanDangler has allegedly run her own version of this scheme with gifting subs for a chance to win a gift card. While Twitch only loosely enforces this law, it is a serious issue that would merit banning.
TheDanDangler will likely be back on Twitch within the next few days. Until then, fans who still want to watch her content will have to do so through alternative platforms.
