YouTuber Ruben “El Rubius” Doblas Gundersen could be the next influencer joining the Fortnite Icon series.
A lot of people have been trolling that they don’t know Rubius after it went viral that he could be getting a skin in the popular battle royale. While North Americans may not be aware of Rubius, the Spanish-speaking YouTuber actually has 40.4 million subscribers on YouTube, where he posts travel vlogs, challenge videos, and video game content. Rubius recently shared a video that had fans speculating that he could be joining Fortnite. In the ominous clip, Rubius flicks his bedroom lights on and off, revealing the shadow of the iconic Fortnite supply llama. This doesn’t say much but definitely had his millions of fans wondering what it could mean.
It also seemed to coincide with a recent video where Rubius used a Fortnite vending machine.
These mysterious videos paired with leaks that El Rubius is coming to Fortnite have made it seem pretty possible that a collaboration is coming. This type of marketing also follows previous streamers’ teasers before they also became a part of the icon series, including Nick “NickEh30” Amyoony.
But when fans have asked Rubius during livestreams if he was getting a Fortnite skin he just smiled. While it’s not an answer, it’s also not a no. Still, the Fortnite content creator has done a lot of massive challenges and popular videos surrounding the battle royale, so it seems only fitting.
