The MCU announcement that Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has fans wondering if the actor will appear in the next season of Fortnite as Dr. Doom.

The Dr. Doom outfits were rewarded to players at level 67 of Chapter 2 Season 4 Battle Pass in Fortnite. There were a total of five Doom skins that players could earn after completing the requirements. Victor Von Doom was also a boss in Doom’s Domain that players could defeat. There have been leaks that Dr. Doom will be returning in the upcoming update of Fortnite, which is suspiciously timed with the reveal of RDJ as Dr. Doom. This has fans wondering about the possibility of the new Dr. Doom skin being based on RDJ. The Dr. Doom outfit was a fan favorite and as per the recent Fortnite player survey, fans wish to see another collab.

Will Robert Downey Jr. be in the new update of Fortnite?

Dr. Doom will make a comeback in the new Fortnite update according to dataminers, although it is unknown whether it will be the Robert Downey Jr. version.

The leak includes a green cape for an unreleased Lego Fortnite skin titled “AngelPatch,” and it’s very likely the character’s skin will be part of an upcoming battle pass. Multiple known Fortnite data miners believe the character will be part of Season 4’s battle pass, which Epic Games confirmed will come out on August 6, 2024.

Recent IP collaborations in Fortnite like Deadpool have fans assuming that Fortnite may collaborate with Marvel for Dr. Doom. Additionally, Season 4 is speculated to be Marvel-themed. New constellations titled DOOM and SWORD are in the game, and both are related to Marvel, as SWORD is an organization in the fictional universe.

It’s unknown if Dr. Doom’s return has anything to do with the announcement that the character is the main antagonist of the MCU and will be played by Robert Downey Jr. Leaks claimed Dr. Doom’s return before Marvel announced RDJ’s return to the MCU, so the character may just be part of the season’s storyline.
