Is a Hatsune Miku skin coming to Fortnite? Rumors explained

Hatsune Miku Fortnite skin survey header

Fortnite’s list of crossovers knows no bounds, and virtual singer Hatsune Miku has entered the rumor mill as a potential skin for the game.

Epic’s battle royale is known for its massive list of crossovers. Ranging from mainstream juggernauts like Marvel to forgotten EDM artists, there truly are no limits. To test future collaborations, the developer sends out surveys with a list of potential collabs for fans to react to. The latest survey, sent out on September 28, 2024, lists many musical acts including Gorillaz, Billie Eilish, Aerosmith, and Slipknot. However, one name in particular is making the rounds on social media.

With her inclusion in the latest survey, what are the chances of Hatsune Miku getting a skin in Fortnite?

Is a Hatsune Miku skin coming to Fortnite?

The latest Fortnite skin survey includes Hatsune Miku, hinting at a future collaboration with the vocaloid star.

Fortnite’s surveys give fans a way to influence the game’s collaborations. Fans can sign up to get skin surveys, which they can then respond to and help determine which collaborations actually make it into the game. Hatsune Miku’s inclusion in the latest list likely means that at least one Epic developer is considering the collaboration. However, fan reaction will ultimately determine which musical groups make the cut.

It’s also possible that Hatsune Miku is a red herring for the Fortnite skin survey. Plenty of other collaborations have appeared in a survey only to fizzle out. Epic could also have included Miku as filler for the survey with no actual collaboration in mind. However, if fans react positively to her inclusion, it raises the chances of a partnership between Epic and Crypton.

Hatsune Miku KATIO MEIKO Megurine Luka Kagamine Rin Kagamine Len

Hatsune Miku is a virtual singer, also known as a vocaloid. Vocaloids are programs that musicians can use to create vocals for songs without a human singer. Miku is by far the most well-known vocaloid, though there is a chance other popular singers like Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, or Kasane Teto could appear. Any collaboration would likely include at least a few singing emotes, with Miku by Anamanaguchi all but guaranteed for a Fortnite skin.

If the rumor turns out to be true, expect an official update on Hatsune Miku in Fortnite sometime in early 2025.
