Guy “Dr DisRespect” Beahm told fans he’s still a part of Midnight Society, but the studio he once owned has now responded.
Dr DisRespect was all but canceled earlier this year when a former Twitch employee revealed the reason behind his permaban was inappropriate interactions with a minor on the platform. Doc returned to streaming soon after, calling out Twitch and its employees for allegedly conspiring against him and making him lose YouTube monetization. He also added that Midnight Society was forced to lay off employees due to the situation impacting the studio. Midnight Society faced major backlash when the studio announced it was no longer associated with Dr DisRespect after a private investigation found him to be guilty.
Since then, fans of the controversial Two-Time have bashed the game on social media. Despite this, the studio has denied that Dr DisRespect is returning.
No, Dr DisRespect is no longer a part of game studio Midnight Society.
During a recent stream, Dr Disrespect was asked by a fan why Midnight Society was still tagged in his X bio. Doc responded that he’s not only still involved, but that the company is “still his studio.” He said that fans should have “just give it a little bit more time” and he’d be back to working on Midnight Society’s first game, a vertical battle royale called Deadrop.
“We’ll be right back in, champs. Just give us some time. Not a problem,” said DisRespect.
A spokesperson for Midnight Society reacted to the claims, telling publication Decrypt that Dr DisRespect was basically lying. They explained that his statement was “baseless” and “not true.” They then reiterated that the studio and Dr DisRespect “amicably parted ways” with each other after the investigation.
Even though Midnight Society has denied that Dr DisRespect is returning, the Doc still has the studio tagged in his bio. It’s unclear if Doc is still under the illusion that he will be welcomed back or if he’s too afraid to admit the truth to the Champions Club. Meanwhile, Midnight Society has been making progress towards releasing Deadrop in early 2025.
