Inner Circle benches its entire CS2 roster, explains why

Inner Circle CS2 bench

Polish esports organization Inner Circle is announcing the benching of its full CS2 roster, and that it’s now searching for a buyer.

Inner Circle hasn’t seen much success recently, with the CS2 team leaving early from the CS Asia Championships European qualifier and DraculaN Season 1. The two-month-old roster managed to reach the grand finals of ESEA Advanced Season 54, but it looks like the organization isn’t satisfied with the performance of the team and its failure to qualify to notable tournaments. As a result, Inner Circle has announced that it’s looking to sell the whole roster.

Why did Inner Circle bench its CS2 roster?

Inner Circle stated that the organization’s CS2 roster failed to perform as expected, and that’s why the entire roster has been benched and is now up for sale.

Polish organization Inner Circle stated the CS2 team has “untapped potential” despite transfer-listing the whole roster. The organization shared its intentions to support the team in upcoming tournaments and also sponsor it in the Birch Cup. Inner Circle didn’t announce a new roster, but informed fans that a new CS2 team will be revealed later on.

The organization’s decision to put up a new roster came as a surprise to fans in July, and many are now questioning the organization’s quick decision to disband the team. Many fans believe two months isn’t enough time for the roster to grow and improve. While many understand Inner Circle decided to disband because the roster consistently under-performed by failing to qualify for any notable tournaments, some believe the group could’ve improved if given more time.

Tomáš “oskar” Šťastný and Martin “STYKO” Styk were previously the most notable players on Inner Circle. The organization ditched the two in favor of the new all-Polish roster, which failed to impress or perform sufficiently.

The team’s AWPer, Olek “hades” Miskiewicz, thanked Inner Circle for giving the squad a chance and summarized the roster’s brief stint as a “short but interesting period.” hades was one of the top players of Inner Circle’s new team, with the player having stood in for G2 at multiple top events including BLAST Austin Major. Fans thought at the time hades would be a boon for Inner Circle, but the CS2 roster didn’t fare as well as expected and now finds itself on the outs.

Inner Circle’s transfer-listed roster:

  • Szymon “kRaSnaL” Mrozek
  • Olek “hades” Miskiewicz
  • Kamil “KEi” Pietkun
  • Kacper “Kylar” Walukiewicz
  • Wiktor “mynio” Kruk
