We give you an overview of the standings, results, and schedule for the 2022 IEM Rio CSGO Major.
The first Valve-sanctioned Major to take place in Brazil and only the fourth to be hosted outside of Europe, IEM Rio promises to bring high-level competition. Starting on October 31 and ending on November 13, it will be the first to feature a $1.25M prize pool.
Over the next two weeks, 24 teams will enter the server in Rio de Janeiro. It’ll be a lot of fun for spectators and fans of CS2 betting alike, and there’s little doubt that the action will live up to expectations.
The CSGO Major will be played in three stages: The Challenger, Legends, and Champion stages. The first two will be played in 16 team Swiss system, with the top eight making it to the next stage. The Champion Stage, the final stage of the event, is a single elimination bracket.
The Challenger stage is played in a 16-team Swiss format. Each team needs to win three games to qualify. Losing three games means elimination.
Qualification or elimination matches are played in a best-of-three series, the rest in a best-of-one.
