ESL revealed on October 23rd the groups and first matchups for the upcoming IEM Chengdu 2025, which will run from November 3rd to 9th.
The Chinese tournament will see the best CS2 teams in the world, including Vitality, The MongolZ, FURIA, Team Spirit, and Falcons, fight for their share of the $1 million prize pool. This means that both groups are stacked with title contenders.
The group stage will utilize a traditional double-elimination format, in which the group winners will advance straight to the semifinals. The runners-up and third-placed teams of each group advance to the playoffs.
Speaking of playoffs, the teams will play through a single-elimination bracket. All matches of the tournament are best-of-threes, minus the grand finals, which is a best-of-five.
IEM Chengdu will be the first one for The MongolZ after they benched Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold, their best player this season. The Mongolian team will play with the veteran Unudelger “controlez” Baasanjargal as a substitute.
