Hytale’s early access release is now less than two weeks away and with players gearing up for the game it’s time to figure out if their PCs can actually handle it. Luckily, yesterday (Dec. 1) Hytale’s developers Hypixel Studios revealed the advised System Requirements for the game.
While Hytale isn’t exactly the most graphically intense game around, it’s definitely geared in such a way it could easily push some systems to the limit. The sandbox nature of the game, the unlimited potential, and the huge procedural generation of worlds could put strain on older PCs. So lets take a look at Hytale’s system requirements ahead of the Dec. 13 release.
Here’s Hytale’s system requirements
Check out Hytale’s system requirements with a few notes from us to give context.
Hytale minimum system requirements
Hytale’s minimum system requirements are as follows:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10 (version 1809), Windows 11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-7500 (or equivalent), AMD Ryzen 3 1200 (or equivalent)
- RAM:
- Singleplayer, with dedicated graphics: 8 GB
- Singleplayer, with integrated graphics: 12 GB
- Multiplayer-only: 8 GB
- GPU:
- Integrated:
- Intel UHD Graphics 620
- AMD Radeon Vega 6
- Dedicated:
- NVIDIA GTX 900 Series
- AMD Radeon 400 Series
- Intel Arc A-Series
- (Note: A graphics card with up-to-date drivers supporting at least OpenGL 4.1 is required. Future versions of Hytale may additionally require support for Vulkan 1.3 and DirectX 12.)
- Storage: SATA SSD with 20 GB of free space
- Network: 2 Mbit/s connection for multiplayer (UDP/QUIC compatible).
The big things to note here are the Windows 10 compatibility and the SSD requirement. SSDs are essentially standard for any modern game at this point, and even Hytale isn’t immune.
Hytale recommended system requirements
Hytale’s recommended system requirements are as follows:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10 (version 1809), Windows 11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-10400 (or equivalent), AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (or equivalent)
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU:
- Integrated:
- Intel Iris Xe Graphics
- AMD Radeon 660M
- Dedicated:
- NVIDIA GTX 900 Series
- AMD Radeon 400 Series
- Intel Arc A-Series
- (Note: A graphics card with up-to-date drivers supporting at least OpenGL 4.1 is required. Future versions of Hytale may additionally require support for Vulkan 1.3 and DirectX 12.)
- Storage: NVMe SSD with 20 GB of free space
- Network: 8 Mbit/s connection for multiplayer (UDP/QUIC compatible)
The big difference here between the minimum and recommended are the severely beefed up processor and GPU.

Storage requirements
Hypixel Studios also provided some recommended storage space requirements for Hytale. While they’re not as huge as some AAA titles, you’ll still need to reserve some space. Which can be hard on sometimes smaller capacity SSDs.
- Installation size: 8 GB
- Saved game size (in Exploration mode):
- ~661 MB for 5000×5000 blocks
- ~27 KB per 32×32 chunk
This means the recommended 20 GB of space is for worlds that are heavily explored. For smaller worlds and singleplayer, it’s expected you might be able to get away with a smaller save.
Hytale Network, Server and Streamer Requirements
Hytale also helpfully suggested some streamer setup specs:
Suggested Hytale Streamer Setup
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10 (version 1809), Windows 11
- CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K (or equivalent), AMD Ryzen 7 3800X (or equivalent)
- RAM: 32 GB
- GPU:
- NVIDIA RTX 30 Series
- AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series
- Intel Arc A-series
- Note: These recommendations are made as newer graphics cards provide much better video quality for a given bitrate, especially for livestreaming scenarios. If supported, we also strongly recommend the use of AV1 / HEVC for video recording.
- Storage:
- NVMe SSD with at least 10% (or 50 GB) of free space available.
- Note: For best performance, we recommend using a separate drive for video recording.
