How to watch TI live this year as The International kicks off for 2025

the international

Valve has historically given fans a bunch of ways to watch The International live, and TI14 is no different, with event organizers providing plenty of ways to watch TI live for 2025.

For better or worse, Valve has always tried to make watching Dota 2 tournaments and pub matches as accessible as possible. This has resulted in a variety of issues when it comes to smurfing and tournament organizers’ ability to operate in the game, but it has made things convenient for fans and viewers.

While a lot has changed in Dota 2 esports over the last two years, the ease of watching the game’s biggest tournaments remains in place today. There are a few different options available for fans to watch TI 2025 live; and we’ve highlighted the best and easiest.

Dota 2 fans can watch TI14 live on Twitch and YouTube

The International 2025 will be aired live on both Twitch and YouTube, where multiple channels will simultaneously broadcast the entirety of TI14. Both platforms can be readily watched either through their apps or through web browsers. There are various perks to watching on either platform.

  • Twitch chat is often entertaining, and is a big part of the esports viewing experience for many fans regardless of the game or tournament. For previous installments of The International, Valve has had an overlay on the broadcast that allows newer fans to easily look up the abilities of different heroes and effects of different items. For those new players who want to actually learn about Dota 2 and all of its myriad complexities while watching The International, Twitch is the best bet.
  • YouTube is a strong alternative, though. Generally speaking, its app performs better on most devices and digital media players, offering improved stability and quality. On top of that, YouTube actually allows viewers to easily rewind the live games they’re watching during TI, so they can freely catch up on what happened if they missed a key moment or just replay a great highlight at will.

Fans can watch The International 2025 directly through the Dota 2 client

Dota 2 fans and players alike can watch TI14 live directly through the in-game client for the most intimate experience.

DotaTV has long been a mixed bag when it comes to the overall Dota 2 landscape, but it’s always been a great tool for esports fans. It allows casual Dota 2 players to actually watch the action directly through their game, while still providing the option of listening to official commentary.

The added benefit of this is that it allows players to have full control over the camera, or can watch directly from the vantage point of one of the competing players. This makes for a unique experience, but with a couple of drawbacks.

The audio quality of the commentary is generally lower than can be had through official broadcast channels on Twitch or YouTube, which can leave things sounding garbled at times. The experience is also far from seamless, with players having to manually click between games to watch.

Watching TI14 live in the Dota 2 client can teach advanced players a lot more about the game than just watching on Twitch, allowing viewers to track the exact play of world’s top players on the biggest stage in all of Dota 2. That level of insight is especially important for anyone looking to take part in Dota 2 betting. Still, there is a tradeoff in quality to keep in mind for those looking to watch TI14 live this year.
