Spectre Divide is going full-competitive with the newly launched ranked mode, and the unlock process is much simpler than fans expected.
On August 13, Spectre Divide entered closed beta, which was available for everyone patient enough to watch drop-enabled live streams on Twitch. However, the game was only available in casual mode, leaving competitive players hungry for more. This wave will end on August 21, so only one day is left until Spectre Divide returns to the workshop.
Now, developer Mountaintop has confirmed that ranked mode is coming to Spectre Divide on August 20.
Players do not have to unlock ranked mode in Spectre Divid after big changes by the developer. Initially, there was a requirement to win five casual games to unlock ranked mode.
On August 20, the developer announced Spectre Divide’s ranked mode would unlock after winning five casual games. However, with the beta ending in 24 hours, players wouldn’t have sufficient time to grind and access ranked mode. Following community feedback, the developer removed the requirement, making ranked mode available to all.
This decision came with a promise that a similar system would be implemented to unlock ranked mode when officially Spectre Divide is released. Once players have gained enough rating, they’ll be promoted to the next rank in Spectre Divide. Keep in mind that ranked progress, similar to other in-game progress in Spectre Divide, will be wiped clean and will not transfer to the official release version.
Spectre Divide ranked is currently bugged, preventing players from queuing with friends.
While Spectre Divide ranked mode is available for all players in closed beta, everyone must try it in separate lobbies. Duo and trio matchmaking is currently unavailable due to an unknown bug that Mountaintop is investigating. Once it has been fixed, players will be able to team up with their friends and climb the ranked ladder.
The Spectre Divide Closed Beta will come to an end on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
