The 2020 release is still expanding with new regions and characters frequently arriving, prompted new players to jump into Teyvat for the first time. HoYoverse now lets players link their in-game accounts with Discord to make connecting with friends easier. While the main reason for this feature is to make co-op play more convenient, another motive is the in-game reward for linking both accounts.

Fortunately, the entire process is fairly streamlined as players only have to follow the steps given below to link both accounts:
A pop-up will confirm that the linking between accounts is successful. Players can also unlink the two accounts by pressing the small unlink button on the same webpage to change to a Genshin Impact account that isn’t already linked with a Discord account. However, players can only change the linked account once per month.
In addition to making co-op easier, linking Genshin Impact and Discord accounts gives players an instant reward of 30 Primogems.
After linking the two accounts, players can interact with the big Claim Rewards button in the center of the screen to receive an in-game mail with 30 Primogems.
In addition to rewards, linking accounts displays real-time game information in Discord while playing the game. This information includes the player’s nickname, adventure rank, game server, and online duration. The website states that future updates may consist of more game data.
Players can also invite others through Discord if they’ve linked their accounts, making playing with friends easier. However, as of now, players can’t showcase their Genshin Impact account on their Discord profile like they can with other connections like Spotify and League of Legends.
