How to farm XP for Valorant’s battle pass fast

Valorant_pick_ems_clove

Valorant Episode 9, Act 2, is upon us, and players are looking to farm XP to unlock all those mouth-watering cosmetics.

For each act, Riot releases a battle pass stacked with cheap but attractive skins, gun buddies, player cards, radianite points, and much more. Some of this content is free, while others are claimed by paying 1,000 VP. Paid or not, sometimes, players miss out on rewards for not earning enough XP in time. The current battle pass is packed with coveted skins and cosmetics, and players have until late December to unlock all items.

To understand how to complete Valorant’s battle pass faster, it’s essential to first know how much XP is required.

How much XP to finish a full Valorant battle pass?

To complete a full Valorant battle pass, starting from Episode 2 Act 1 onwards, a total of 1,162,500 XP is required.

This includes all 50 tiers, along with the epilogue tiers. Here’s how it breaks down.

  • To complete 10 chapters/50 tiers: 980,000 XP
  • Each Epilogue tier requires: 36,500 XP
  • Total XP for all 5 Epilogue tiers: 182,500 XP

So, the grand total for completing the full battle pass (all tiers, including Epilogue) is 1,162,500 XP. That’s a lot of XP to gain within two months, which is typically how long a battle pass lasts in Valorant.

Many players often skip the battle pass, thinking it only offers cheap skins. However, it’s important to note that battle pass skins are the second rarest items in Valorant, aside from time-limited content. When a new act starts, a new battle pass with fresh content is introduced, and the previous pass becomes unavailable, making its weapon skins unobtainable.

Once a pass is no longer one of the three most recent, its accessories can appear in weekly offers in the accessory store, where players can unlock them with Kingdom credits. So, it’s worth grinding for it, and here’s how to complete the Valorant battle pass faster.

How to farm XP for the Valorant battle pass

Valorant players can farm XP for the battle pass just by playing the game, but there are quite a few tricks to speed up the process.

Pick the game mode wisely

All Valorant game modes grant XP, but some offer more than others. Of course, players pining for the Radiant badge may not care about spending their precious time grinding Spike Rush, but it’s one of the quickest ways to earn more XP in less time.

Here’s how much XP each game mode grants in Valorant:

  • Unrated/Competitive: These modes offer up to 4,700 XP per match for a win, with a minimum of 2,100 XP for a loss . However, each match lasts around 30-40 minutes.
  • Spike Rush: A shorter mode, granting a flat 1,000 XP per match. Matches last about 8-12 minutes, allowing players to run through multiple games quickly.
  • Swiftplay: This mode gives 1,750-2,250 XP per match and takes 15 minutes per game, making it an efficient way to earn 7,000-9,000 XP per hour.
  • Deathmatch: Awards 900 XP per match and lasts 9 minutes. It’s quicker but offers less XP than other modes.
  • Team Deathmatch: Another quick mode offering 1,000 XP per match without the pressure of losing.

Playing spike rush and swift play are the best ways to farm XP quicker and unlock all Valorant battle pass content. That means if they play roughly 20 spike rush games per day, grinders can accumulate the required 1,162,500 XP within the two-month duration. Now, that is indeed a lot of games. However, it’s possible to combine it with other strategies to maximize XP gain without spending hours in spike rush servers.

Play dailies

Completing dailies is one of the best ways to progress Valorant battle pass quickly. Dailies expire within 24 hours and come with four checkpoints of small missions, giving 1,000 XP for completing each along with lots of Kingdom credits. Weekly missions can be played throughout the week, and they offer a substantial amount of XP as well.

Dailies and weeklies are simple to complete and highly recommended because they often involve tasks like buying armor, dealing damage, or using specific abilities, activities players do in-game anyway. By completing these challenges, they can earn extra XP on top of what they gain from ranked or competitive matches, effectively doubling the XP gained.

Completing the daily challenges can earn around 16,000 XP every day for about 30 days, which will get roughly 60% of the battle pass done. Plus, over those 30 days, players can also complete four sets of weekly challenges, which will significantly help. After that, regardless of the game mode they choose, they’ll earn enough XP to finish the battle pass.

Play competitive and ranked with a squad

Squad boost is a feature that grants players a small percentage of extra XP for playing in a party. Here’s the percentage boost players receive based on their party size.

  • Party of two: 8%
  • Party of three: 12%
  • Party of four: 16%
  • Party of five: 20%

It’s worth noting that this boost is not applicable to XP gained from dailies and weeklies, and players won’t get a boost throughout the year. Instead, squad noost is typically active during the winter holidays. The current battle pass is set to end in late December, so it remains to be seen whether Riot will activate squad boost for this one or the next battle pass.

Buy the premium battle pass

Valorant battle pass has a free track and a premium one, and while both have valuable rewards, premium can help progress quicker. For just 1,000 VP, the premium track boosts battle pass XP gains from matchmade games excluding mission XP by 3% and grants additional rewards for every tier completed.

One key advantage of the Premium track is that it allows players to earn progress toward tiers regardless of whether they bought it right away. This means players can unlock rewards retroactively if they decide to purchase them later in the act. However, it’s important to note that the 3% XP boost only applies to games played after unlocking the premium track, making it beneficial to buy it sooner rather than later.
