Just like in real life, there are some weapons in CS2 that can be fitted with a silencer. Here is how to enable and disable a silencer in Counter-Strike 2.
A silencer is a weapon attachment that is used to reduce the sound of shots being fired. In CS2, it’s available for the M4A1-S and USP-S. There are pros and cons to using a silencer for these guns. Using a silencer is great if players want to be a bit more stealthy and not be detected by enemies. It’s also been documented that both weapons are much more accurate when they have a silencer on except for the M4A1-S becoming noticeably worse when running. However, using a silencer will reduce the distance of the bullets.
Counter-Strike 2 is full of many movement and accuracy tricks here’s one way to instantly improve accuracy.
To remove a silencer in CS2, equip a silenced weapon and right-click
Counter-Strike 2 makes it quite easy to attach and remove a silencer from the M4A1-S and USPS. All you need to do is equip those weapons and then right-click to attach or detach the silencer.
Some gamers are running into a message that says: “Removal of the silencer is disabled. Enable it in settings.” If this happens when right-clicking, there’s a second option to attach or remove the weapon’s silencer. Head to the settings menu, find the Game tab, click Item, and then enable the option Detach Silencer for the M4A1-S and USP-S. After this, gamers should be able to attach and remove the silencer easily.
CS2 has an option to disable the remove silencer button in the Game tab in Settings.
Some Counter-Strike 2 players have run into issues with the way the silencer is attached or removed. It can be a habit for some players to accidentally click their right mouse button during moments they were not intending to change the silencer setting. If this is a common occurrence, players may want to disable the ability to remove the silencer. In addition to the options setting described above, there is also a console setting to disable the rarely-used feature. Open the game console with the tilde (~) key or go to the game’s settings. Once the console is open, type the “unbind” command followed by the key that’s meant to be reset. In this case, the right mouse button. Press enter to confirm this command.
