CS2’s custom map Victoria has players excited and curious about the future development of the player-created map.
Counter-Strike 2 is widely known for its custom map server community that allows CS2 players to express their creativity by creating their own maps. With a number of different community map servers available for players, it can be difficult to decide which maps to try out. However, one map that has caught the eye of numerous CS2 players is the custom map Victoria.
Here is everything that players need to know about CS2 Victoria, from its origins in CSGO to how to download and play it.
Victoria is a custom map server that was initially created on November 5, 2022 by Steam user Nelson. After a few months, Nelson released a more complete version of Victoria in December 2023 before making its most recent set of updates in May 2024. Playtesters have been trying out the newest changes over the past months.
A uniquely shaped map with cool angles and wide bomb sites, the custom map is being met with positive reviews. Many CS2 players specifically praise the map feeling “wide and not claustrophobic.”
“An incredible map with a ton of potential. I have been following the development of this map for quite some time. This has come a long way!” said ” Steam community member The Count.
CS2’s custom map Victoria is currently a “work in progress”, according to Nelson as the map itself only features a barebone skeleton of the structure. Currently, the map features an all-white color scheme, but it will be interesting to see how CS2’s Victoria continues to develop in the future.
CS2 players looking to try out Victoria for themselves will be able to do so through the map’s Steam Community page. Additionally, CS2 players looking to try out other maps created by Victoria’s creator can do so through Nelson’s Steam community page. Players who download Victoria will be able to play custom, classic, and deathmatch games where they can practice movement while trying out a unique map.
Note that the original Steam workshop page for the CSGO version of Victoria is still accessible. While more finished than the CS2 version, it is not compatible with the Source 2 engine and cannot be played in any meaningful capacity.
