ADR is an important measurement in CS2, and there are different ways that a player can check their score.
Average damage per round, or ADR, is one of the most vital stats in CS2. It lets a player see how much of an impact they had on a game and doesn’t take kills or assists into account. While it’s unclear if it factors into ranking, a player with a better ADR generally performs better. A higher ADR score means they are contributing to the team’s progress.
Finding out where the ADR is can be tricky for new players. Despite its competitive nature, many CS2 players do play casually. Most don’t even realize statistics like ADR can be checked. If a player wants to take competitive play seriously, then checking those statistics is essential for self-review.
Here’s how players can check how high their ADR score is in CS2.
CS2 players can check their ADR either during or after the game that they’re in.
There are two ways to check a player’s ADR in a game. The easiest way is to wait until after the match when all the player stats appear on the screen. The ADR will be the biggest number next to the player icon by far. Underneath the ADR score are the kills, deaths, assists, and headshot percentage.
Additionally, players can check their stats during the game by hitting the tab button, right-clicking to turn on the cursor, and selecting the chart icon in the upper right corner of the scoreboard. From there, anyone can see their and others’ ADRs in the third column. Other listed stats include utility damage, KD ratio, and enemies flashed. Players should check ADR once the second half has started or right before the end of the game for an accurate assessment.
An ADR score of 70 or higher is considered good when playing against equally skilled opponents in CS2.
The more damage a player does to opponents during the game, the higher their ADR score and CS2 rating will be. ADR is calculated by dividing the total amount of damage done by the number of rounds, rather than averaging between rounds. Each player has 100 HP to start, and teams have up to five people per team. With 24 rounds in a standard game, there are a lot of possibilities to do impactful damage.
It’s important to understand that a “good” ADR is relative. If a player has an ADR score of 70 against elite players, that’s surprisingly decent. That same score against randoms and players may need to work on their skills. Quick ways to do that involve ensuring they have the best settings and focusing on staying alive.
