Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp has recently taken a shine to hardcore WoW but hasn’t been having the best time. That changed in his recent stream when he defeated a much more powerful enemy.
Tyler1 is a big name in the League of Legends community, thanks to hundreds of hours streamed on his Twitch channel. The streamer has accumulated over 5 million followers on Twitch with his loud persona and skills in Riot’s MOBA. Recently, Tyler1 has ventured into World of Warcraft, a game known for its depth and dedicated player base. Though vastly different from League of Legends, WoW has a hardcore community of players who have spent years mastering its mechanics.
So, when Tyler1 started streaming WoW in August, he didn’t have the best time at first. Naturally, the streamer favored raging and blaming chat or trolls for some of his problems with WoW. He ignored the criticisms and continued streaming the game, where things have gotten quite competitive.
Tyler1 is improving very fast in hardcore WoW. When Tyler1 dipped his toes into WoW Hardcore, it went about as well as you’d expect. Despite the setbacks, the streamer gave it another shot, completing one of the most difficult Warrior questlines solo. While LoL and WoW don’t have much in common, it’s much easier for a MOBA specialist to transfer some skills to an MMORPG. The same was true for Tyler1, who quickly adjusted to WoW mechanics.
His redemption arc didn’t come without its bumps. In a recent stream, Tyler1 lost his Level 23 Tauren Warrior due to constant distractions in-game. He blamed the WoW Hardcore incident on griefers, while some viewers claimed the finger-pointing was a cop-out for his poor skills. Tyler1 soldiered on, and the streamer has now progressed to level 40 in WoW Hardcore.
On his latest stream, Tyler1 accomplished an incredible feat. The streamer breezed past the Elite level 40 Cyclonian, earning himself the highly coveted Whirlwind weapon. Seasoned WoW players would know that Warrior is one of the most difficult WoW classes due to a lack of healing and reliance on gear. Most Warriors avoid tackling the Cyclonian questline alone due to the high difficulty level.
Those who do attempt it alone often wait until at least level 40 to ensure they have the damage output and survivability needed to take down the elite Cyclonian. Tyler1 completed the two prerequisite quests to summon Cyclonian entirely on his own, farmed the required materials, collected the necessary items, and ultimately defeated the nearly unbeatable elite mob. In roughly 15 minutes, no less.
“It wasn’t even that hard,” exclaimed Tyler1 upon defeating the high-level foe. “It’s f–king easy too, bi–hes. I did it in my sleep, by the way. Zero effort,” Tyler1 said.
Even in the clip, it’s easy to spot how his teammates kept their distance from the fight, letting Tyler1 have his big moment while avoiding getting caught in Cyclonian’s powerful wind-based abilities, like Whirlwind and Gust of Wind. It’s easy for some viewers to forget that for all of the streamer’s antics, he is a legitimately impressive gamer. From his surprisingly great chess skills to his many League of Legends records, fans should never underestimate the streamer’s determination.
