Cross progression in Apex Legends aims to streamline the experience across multiple platforms. Here’s how the process works and what’s been merged.
Apex Legends is available on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and Nintendo Switch platforms. Previously, a player enjoying the game on Xbox couldn’t take their progress to another platform. Now, with cross progression available, players can switch platforms without worrying about losing progress. Cross progression launched with Apex Legends: Ignite and has taken some time to implement. Many players had to wait a while for the progression to stick to their accounts.
Now that the system is fully implemented, here’s everything Apex Legends players should know about cross progression.
Apex Legends cross progression is automatic and mandatory. Players get an in-game prompt for account merging, and the feature is ready to be used.
The cross progression in Apex Legends is handled with the EA Account. Platforms and Apex accounts associated with an EA Account will get merged. Unfortunately, any secondary Apex accounts created on the same EA account won’t be eligible for the merging. Controller lovers who switch to PC can now bring their progression and controllers to the platform.
The process is automatic, and players cannot opt out of the feature in the future. Ranked leaderboards will be locked to each platform. Platform-specific achievements and trophies will remain locked, but progress-based ones will automatically unlock on other platforms.
Any unlocked Legends, skins, and currency will be merged into one account, accessible across platforms.
Apex Coins will also be added, and Xbox, PlayStation, and PC will share the same balance. Nintendo purchases and earned Apex Coins will remain locked to the platform. The cross progression will merge crafting materials, Legend Tokens, and Heirloom Shards. Apex Legend Mobile won’t be included in the merger.
All unlocked Legends and inventory will remain the same across all platforms. However, platform-specific rewards like the PlayStation Plus Pack items, Xbox Founder’s Edition content, Xbox Gold Items, and P.A.T.H legendary skins will remain accessible only on their respective platforms.
