How to convert Valorant sensitivity to Deadlock

Valorant and Deadlock

Valve’s third-person MOBA Deadlock could be the next big team shooter, and Valorant players may want the same sensitivity settings.

Deadlock took the industry by storm when its initial playtest first launched. The game broke many records to establish itself as a successful third-person shooter MOBA. Even when the game was invite-only it managed to cross the 100,000 concurrent players milestone. Deadlock managed to get over 15.52 million views on Twitch, something many AAA games can’t do.

Many players have switched from different shooter games but the sensitivity difference may make adjusting tough. New players may face some issues getting used to the sensitivity of Deadlock compared to other shooters, especially first-person ones like Valorant. Fortunately for players, they can convert Valorant’s sensitivity to the Valve shooter.

Converting Valorant sensitivity to Deadlock

Players must calculate their mouse sensitivity using a formula to convert Valorant’s value to Deadlock.

Firstly, players wanting to convert Valorant’s sensitivity to Deadlock must check their mouse sensitivity value in Valorant. Then, they’ll need to calculate the sensitivity based on the conversion formula for Deadlock. Once done, they can use their Valorant sensitivity to play Deadlock, bypassing the perspective change.

Valorant’s sensitivity settings can be found using the following steps.

  • Launch Valorant and head to the main menu
  • Open the in-game settings by clicking the gear icon on the top right of the screen
  • Head to the mouse tab
  • The Valorant to Deadlock sensitivity ratio is 1:1.591, so to covert Riot’s shooter sensitivity to Deadlock, players need to use the following formula
    • Multiply their Valorant sensitivity by 1.591
  • Once players have calculated the sensitivity, they need to input it into Deadlock

Players can modify the settings using the following steps in Deadlock after successfully calculating their Deadlock sensitivity according to Valorant:

  • Launch Deadlock and go to the main menu
  • Open the in-game settings and head to the mouse sensitivity section
  • Adjust the slider according to the calculated sensitivity (sliding the slider left will decrease the sensitivity and sliding it right will increase it)

Once players have completed all the steps their mouse sensitivity in Valve’s shooter will be converted to Valorant. If any issues arise, then players can revert back to the default Deadlock mouse sensitivity. The default for Deadlock is 1.25, and players can adjust from there.

Does Deadlock play like Valorant?

Valorant and Deadlock are very different games, despite the surface-level similarities. While both are team-based hero shooters, Valorant has more in common with Counter-Strike than Deadlock. Valorant’s pace is more strategic and gunplay-focused, as opposed to Deadlock’s more MOBA-inspired flow.

Despite the differences, mouse sensitivity is a universal quality that typically translates well from game to game.  Valorant players moving over to Deadlock will have to acclimate to role-based team play. Tanks, supports and DPS are more crucial in Deadlock than in Valorant. Of course, with Deadlock so early in development, the core gameplay may change significantly with each new update.
