Hoshimachi Suisei is going to space, here’s how

The vtuber Hoshimachi Suisei isn’t literally going to space, but an upcoming collaboration with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency puts it on the table.

The vtuber Hoshimachi Suisei is one of the most popular virtual streamers and singers in the world. Suisei started as an independent vtuber in 2018 but joined a vtuber group called S:gnal. However, that was short-lived as she graduated and resumed activities as an independent vtuber. In 2019, the vtuber joined Hololive and has been affiliated with the agency since then. She’s the fifth Holilive member to reach a massive 2.5 million subscriber count on YouTube. Furthermore, her YouTube channel is the third Hololive channel to reach 1 billion views. The vtuber has seen much success in her streaming career, and Hoshimachi Suisei’s next stop is none other than outer space.

Fans will be pleasantly surprised to hear that the Hololive vtuber is collaborating with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.

Hoshimachi Suisei is collaborating with the Japanese space program

Hoshimachi Suisei will stream a video on her YouTube channel from the Japanese space program JAXA as part of a collaboration.

Sagamihara City, a town featuring prominent astronomical research facilities, reached out to the Hololive vtuber Hoshmachi Suisei to discuss a collaboration. The town also contacted the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency about featuring the MIO, Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter, project. The collaboration’s goal is to familiarise the public with planets and orbiters.

On October 21, 2024, Sagamihara City announced that the collaboration had been finalized. The Sagamihara City’s X account posted that Hoshimachi Suisei’s YouTube channel will host a collaboration stream on November 1, 2024.

The stream will feature JAXA’s unmanned space probe also named Suisei. Furthermore, Sagamihara City’s mayor Kentaro Motomura and deputy mayor Okawa will dance to Hoshimachi Suisei’s song Bibideva. The video of which will be released on Sagamihara City’s X account later in October 2024.

Furthermore, Sagamihara City will host an event, Water-Rich City Sagamihara Festa 2024, from Saturday, November 2, 2024, till Monday, November 4, 2024. Hoshimachi Suisei’s music video will be screened on the main stage of the city event.

In addition, fans will have the opportunity to win prizes such as a hand-signed autograph of Hoshimachi Suisei. After this collaboration, it is safe to say that Hoshimachi Suisei is living up to be the shooting star her lore claims she is.
