Hoshimachi Suisei debuts her new model, check it out

The Hololive vtuber idol Hoshimachi Suisei debuted her new Live2D 2.0 model and fans were excited to see how it stacks up against her previous models.

The virtual streamer and singer Hoshimachi Suisei was recruited by Cover’s music label, INoNaKa Music after she became an independent vtuber. However, in 2019, she was transferred to the main Hololive branch. The vtuber is part of Hololive’s 0th generation alongside other popular vtubers such as the virtual diva AZKi.

Suisei has achieved much success in her career and boasts an impressive 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube. In addition, the vtuber reached outer space after collaborating with the Japanese space program. On November 22, 2024, the vtuber idol Hoshimachi Suisei debuted her Live2D 2.0 model in a live stream on YouTube.

How is Hoshimachi Suisei’s new model different from her old one?

Hoshimachi Suisei’s new model still wears her standard outfit but the Live2D 2.0 model makes her movement more fluid and realistic compared to her previous model.

The main objective of a vtuber using a Live2D 2.0 or 3.0 model is for them to look more real and for their movement to feel more smooth. This is visible when Hoshimachi Suisei unveils her new model on her stream. Her model’s movement becomes more natural and the vtuber’s expressions appear realistic.

During her stream, the vtuber fans noticed that she was dressed in her old outfit and asked her why. Hoshimachi Suisei claimed that the outfit was her standard outfit and she wanted to make a 2.0 version of it. Subsequently, she displayed her new model and comments on how real it looks compared to before. Suisei showed her fans how her legs moved and also how the air can move her hair.

Fans expressed their love for the vtuber’s new model on the social media platform Reddit and stated that it was great to see the vtuber in her standard outfit. Furthermore, many said they were impressed with how the model is 2D, when it looks as though it’s 3D given how real it looks.

While many vtubers are debuting Live2D 3.0 models, Hoshimachi Suisei decided to debut a 2.0 model. This was surprising for fans but the new model managed to leave them in awe.
