2024 is continuing to be one of the worst years for vtuber enthusiasts. Multiple famous vtubers such as Minato Aqua and Kunai Nakasato have either graduated or announced an upcoming graduation. Hololive announced that Amelia Watson is technically graduating from HoloEN on September 30, 2024, but fan letters will be accepted until November 29, 2024.

Hololive tweeted on its X account announcing the departure of the huge vtuber Amelia Watson. The vtuber agency informed fans that while the vtuber will cease all social media and channel activities, she will continue to remain an affiliate of Hololive. On its website, Hololive elaborated more on how much Amelia Watson has contributed to the vtuber community. The vtuber company praised the vtuber for her unique content that made her stand out and famous worldwide. In addition, Hololive mentioned how crucial the content creator was for spreading the vtuber culture overseas by participating in activities beyond streaming.

The company ended the announcement by thanking fans for their continued support and requested them not to contact Amelia Watson directly regarding the graduation.

Why is Amelia Watson graduating?

No official reason is given by Amelia Watson or Hololive regarding why she is graduating, but it seems to be done with mutual consent.

Amelia Watson retweeted Hololive’s graduation announcement but didn’t elaborate on the matter. In another social media post, the vtuber mentioned that she would hold a chatting stream on September 21, 2024. It is likely the chatting stream will help clear up the reason for Amelia Watson’s graduation from Hololive.

It is well known in the vtuber community that the streamer was slowly but surely moving toward a more managerial role. While Amelia Watson will continue to be affiliated with Hololive, she will likely cease work as a talent. However, nothing has been confirmed by Hololive or the vtuber so far.

Amelia asked fans not to spread any rumors regarding her technically graduating from Hololive. Since Amelia Watson debuted as part of Hololive’s first generation alongside popular vtubers like Gawr Gura and Mori Calliope, any update regarding Amelia Watson’s participation in future Hololive events after graduating will likely be announced through Hololive’s official channels.
