Hanwha Life Esports will get one last shot to defeat Gen.G before the 2025 LCK playoffs begin, but is there any chance of HLE pulling off what it wasn’t able to for a good chunk of the year?

Hanwha Life Esports has been struggling at this stage of the LCK tournament. While the team performed exceptionally at the start of the year, winning the 2025 LCK Cup and First Stand, things have largely gone downhill from there. By contrast, Gen.G has seen much recent success, which is why it makes sense that it’s the odds-on favorite to win here.
Betting tip: There’s a good chance that Gen.G will win against HLE, though it may lose a game along the way.
My HLE vs Gen.G pick: Total maps over 2.5 at 3.75 odds at GG.BET.
Despite dominating weaker teams, Hanwha Life Esports has been playing questionably against the best sides in the LCK. Delight and Peanut usually play well, but that isn’t enough when the other players are practically throwing. A good example of this is week 13’s match against T1, where HLE had a significantly better draft in the second game but still decisively lost.
While HLE is likely to win at least one game, especially if it plays around Zeus and Viper and those two are able to hold up strong, Gen.G has a good chance of ultimately coming out on top.
Speaking of Gen.G, the team has only lost one match since the 2025 LCK season started, continuously showcasing its dominance. Canyon and Peanut may be on a similar playing field when it comes to acquiring objectives, but Gen.G’s jungler usually has better assistance from his teammates.
HLE’s top laner Zeus losing to T1’s Doran, despite having an advantage as Rumble against Yorick, suggests Gen.G’s Kiin may have a good chance of winning the laning phase here based on recent form. Gen.G’s Duro has proven multiple times to be one of the best professional support players in the LCK. Viper has more AD carry potential for HLE than does Gen.G’s Ruler, but he’s also less unreliable.

Hanwha Life Esports has arguably dropped to the third spot in the rankings among the best LCK League of Legends teams. But that doesn’t mean it’s a weak side. Gen.G should come out on top as it has multiple times recently, but HLE will likely win at least one game thanks to its better drafting ability.
Still, with a more balanced bottom lane and better tactical objective acquisitions, Gen.G will likely keep its new winning streak going.
Our HLE vs Gen.G prediction: Gen.G as the match winner 2-1 @ 1.1 odds at GG.BET.
