Project Kongor, creators of Heroes of Newerth: Reborn, sequel and successor to online battle arena pioneer, Heroes of Newerth, have officially revealed their Open Beta.
Revealed alongside an impressive trailer that showcased much of the reboot’s gameplay and visuals, HoN: Reborn’s new mechanics, but classic characters, were on full display. HoN: Reborn will enter Open Beta from Nov. 11, 2025. The game will be free to play, although details are limited.
As mentioned, HoN: Reborn will be available from Nov. 11, 2025. What wasn’t shared on the trailer was that the game will launch on the Juvio platform, an independent games platform described as “for the hobbyist,” and designed to allow creators to publish content and earn revenue from their creations.
Heroes of Newerth, whose intellectual property and rights are owned by Singaporean gaming giant Garena, originally closed in June 2022. In 2024, a recreation headed by Project Kongor first emerged, before being renamed and re-announced as HoN: Reborn in 2025.

However, some suspicion has been levelled at HoN: Reborn. The Juvio platform, formerly the iGaming platform, was treated with caution by some users due to its seeming connection to Web 3.0 elements and crypto. Rebranded as Juvio, these elements seem to have been minimized or removed.
Similarly, there’s the apparent involvement of S2Maliken, a developer who drew the ire of the HoN community in the past. That, and the fact that closed alpha and beta testers were reportedly faced with paid cosmetics while playing the game seems to leave some of the potential audience with a sour taste in their mouth.
Still, for diehard fans of HoN, one of the first stand-alone recreations of the original Defense of the Ancients mods, the upcoming beta is huge news. With the original characters returning, backing of the IP holder, and a relatively optimistic fan base, HoN: Reborn could be the start of something special.
