Many argue that the gun-jamming sentinel Vyse is one of Valorant’s best agents but Riot Games seemingly disagrees as she is about to get deadlier in patch 9.11 thanks to some buffs.
Vyse was introduced in Valorant in August 2024 and quickly became a favorite among many because of her deadly kit. Her Arc Rose and Razorvine abilities made her a formidable foe who could go toe to toe with anyone. Pair that with an ultimate that forces players to use their secondary firearm and a good Vyse player can easily turn the tides of battle in their team’s favor.
However, some argue that the Valorant agent is boring and not fun to play. This may change soon in the upcoming Valorant patch 9.11. The patch notes were leaked before the release and it looks like Neon nerfs aren’t the only thing fans need to look out for. Valorant patch 9.11 will be making Vyse more deadly by giving her buffs.
Riot Games will buff Vyse in the upcoming Valorant patch 9.11 by increasing the damage dealt per tick of moving through her Razorvine.
On December 10, 2024, Riot released the patch notes for the Valorant patch 9.11 and revealed major incoming buffs for Vyse. Vyse’s Razorvine will now deal 10 damage instead of the previous 6 when opponents move through the trap. This is a significant increase and will make Vyse even more powerful than before.
Furthermore, the Razorvine now slows enemies who are dashing, including Jett’s notoriously powerful dash. Lastly, the vertical drop height has been decreased ensuring that players too far under it won’t be affected.
While Vyse’s Razorvine is a good ability, in theory, it has various problems. Most of the problems boil down to the fact that it just doesn’t deal that much damage. The low damage allows players to walk out of the trap without fearing much for their health.
That will change with these buffs to Ryse. By bumping the damage dealt up, it’ll only take 10 ticks to take a player out if they don’t have a shield, making it more viable for holding down a position. If the agent caught in the trap moves, then they’ll risk dying. If they don’t, then an enemy can take them down. It’s easy to imagine combos between Razorvines and other agents’ abilities that could wipe out clustered enemies.
Riot is also adding some quality-of-life improvements that will make aggressing the Arc Rose off its initial placement easier. In addition, the equipping speed has also been increased from normal to fast. While minor, this change will let players send out their Arc Rose quicker, and even mid-battle in some scenarios.
