In a brand new bug, EA is telling people that Apex Legends hasn’t been released yet, but there’s a way to fix the pesky error.
Apex Legends has been live for over five years, delivering a wealth of content, game modes, and cosmetic items to players. However, alongside its many additions, EA’s shooter has also accumulated a multitude of bugs and issues, often simple to resolve. Now, a new bug is blocking players from joining the battle royale. On August 18, a player logged into their EA Play account and booted up Apex Legends only to be met with the “Apex hasn’t released” error.
“Wait until the official release to launch Apex Legends.” The error box says.
It turns out the bug has been marring the experience for many. When the player posted about it on Reddit, multiple players claimed to have encountered the same error, which would continue to pop up after each attempt to start the game. Those unaffected by the bug have found it somewhat amusing.
Luckily, a quick fix is available to get them back in the game and continue the Apex Legends rank grind.
The “Apex hasn’t released” bug is preventing players from entering the game from the get-go, but the minor bug can be solved with an equally minor fix.
Here’s how to fix the bug.
Restart EA Play, select Apex Legends, and the game should launch without a hitch, leaving the frustrating error behind.
Respawn hasn’t acknowledged the bug, likely because it’s an accidental error that doesn’t require an elaborate fix. However, restarting the game as an administrator should resolve the issue, and the error popup should not reappear even if players launch EA Play normally without admin privileges. If it continues to exist, players are recommended to play the game through Steam, where Apex Legends is working normally.
