There’s no better way to celebrate Fortnitemares than by carving some pumpkins and earning a chunk of XP along the way.
Carving pumpkins is the latest of several missions in the Fortnitemares event running until November. Upon completion, players earn XP that they can use to unlock special Halloween rewards, including the Thrills & Chills loading screen and the Great Scarecrow glider. The new missions are great ways to rack up points quickly and tackle themed challenges. This is the only time of year that players can carve jack-o’-lanterns in game, after all.
Here’s how to carve pumpkins in Fortnite and complete special Nitemare quests before time is up.
There are five places where Fortnite players can find and carve pumpkins as part of Fortnitemares.
The pumpkins are striped with green and orange and usually come in groups. Once found, the player will be prompted to carve one by the game into a spooky, green-lit jack-o’-lantern. Once five are carved into wicked grins, Fortnite will reward the player with 20,000 XP.
There are five other Fortnitemares quests that went live on October 25, some more self-explanatory than others.
Each quest rewards a player with 20,000 XP, making them good places to farm experience. Some of the more straight-forward new tasks include hitting ten headshots during a game and eliminating five players before the first storm circle starts to close.
Others may take slightly more planning to complete. To travel 1,000 meters with the Chainsaw Rush attack, players can pick up a chainsaw from a random drop or Halloween NPCs Andy Fangerson and Dark Ruby. They can then right click to rush attack. For honking a vehicle at night 15 times, players should be aware that night will fall on the map about nine minutes in and last another nine. Finally, Nitemare Five asks for players to visit four locations or landmarks in the snow biome. The easiest way to do this is by grabbing a vehicle and riding through the Grand Glacier.
By completing all six quests from the Battle Royale Nitemare Five challenge, players can earn enough XP for the first reward on the Fortnitemares track and put some toward the second. New missions are coming out until October 28, and there’s a continuously growing backlog for fans who really want that Great Scarecrow Glider.
