A sharpshooter across universes, it’s no wonder that League of Legends’ Caitlyn has so many sharp-looking skins.

Caitlyn is a major player in both League of Legends and the Netflix television series Arcane. Since 2011, players with a medium skill level have found her an excellent bot lane marksman. More recent years have seen an exploration of her relationship with champion Vi, both in canon lore and in Arcane. According to League of Graphs, Caitlyn is the seventh most popular champion in the current patch.

With 17 skins designed during her LoL tenure, Caitlyn has a look ready for every season and occasion.

Caitlyn has 12 skins that remain in the League shop year-round. Each one has its own backstory, though a certain criminal tends to pop up more than once.

Original Caitlyn

Release date: January 4, 2011

Caitlyn is a Piltover peacemaker who has dedicated herself to ridding the city of its many criminal elements, both in the upper and undercity. She uses a hextech rifle, her intellect, and a helping hand from her occasional partner Vi to ensnare any lawbreakers who make the mistake of catching her eye.

Resistance Caitlyn

Viva la resistance! Caitlyn isn’t going to just lie down and die while Viktor’s battlecast cyborgs try to take over the world. While she may not have stopped him early enough, that doesn’t mean that she can’t take him down now.

Arctic Warfare Caitlyn

Cost: 750 RP

Caitlyn’s Arctic Warfare skin was originally a gift for players who pre-purchased the November 2011 copy of PC Gamer in real life, though it went on sale shortly after. Arctic Ops needed soldiers colder inside than the tundra was, and they came across Caitlyn. Any champions in the Arctic would do best to watch out for her sniper rifle.

Officer Caitlyn

In a universe of cops and robbers, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Caitlyn is a cop. Alongside her impertinent partner Officer Vi, she takes advantage of being underestimated to actually get her job done. There doesn’t always have to be a good cop.

Headhunter Caitlyn

When alien predators are everywhere, champions sometimes have to fight fire with fire. Or at least, Caitlyn decided to fight alien technology with alien technology. Anything to get the shot and make sure the hunt goes exactly the way she planned it.

Pulsefire Caitlyn

Pulsefire Caitlyn just wants to protect the integrity of the time stream. Is that too much to ask? Arcade Caitlyn

In a world where champions are video game heroes, Arcade Caitlyn is the star of a popular rail shooter game who also helps maintain the peace in Arcadia. Arcade visitors can expect to land headshots every time purely because of Caitlyn’s own skill.

Battle Academia Caitlyn

Release date: March 18, 2021

Cost: 1,820 RP

Caitlyn has always been an overachiever, and her skin in the Battle Academia universe is no different. Both class president of the Labrys God-Weapon Academy and head of the Luminary club, she chose to attend the less prestigious school to bring others up to her level. It’s a great opportunity to prove her worthiness as a future general. Oh, and maybe help others.

Arcane Caitlyn

Caitlyn’s Arcane skin depicts her as Caitlyn Kiramman and is the closest in personality to her original look from 2009. She wants to uncover who’s really behind all of the unrest in Zaun, although none of her fellow enforcers take her seriously. However, she may be biting off more than she can chew. Good thing there’s the brooding criminal Vi who’s willing to lend a hand. There’s maybe even more to their relationship if fans get their way in Arcane Season 2.

Snow Moon Caitlyn

Release date: June 23, 2022

On the moons of Ionia, Caitlyn is part of a secret cult of assassins that worships snow as a way to cleanse everything, even one’s humanity. Snow Moon Caitlyn finds herself as the group’s most elite sniper because of her coldness and lack of any empathy. Perhaps in another universe, things turned out differently. She dreams about it sometimes.

Heartthrob Caitlyn

Heartthrob Caitlyn is one of three skins in the <3 high school universe, alongside her secret punk girlfriend Heartache Vi. Caitlyn might be ready to take the next step and make their relationship public at the school dance. What will her friends say? Amumu is also there, but no one really cares about him when the CaitVi show is on.

Vaulted Caitlyn skins

Vaulted skins tend to be semi-permanently retired, brought into the shop for events and holidays at Riot’s discretion. Because of this, Caitlyn’s vaulted skins may be some of the rarer outfits in League.

Sheriff Caitlyn

There’s a new sheriff skin in town, and she might be the only thing keeping the devils out of the town of Progress. It’s the wild west out in the High Noon Gothic universe, where Sheriff Caitlyn has to decide for herself what counts as justice and anything goes. Even if desert devils are far, she can always land an ace in the hole shot.

Safari Caitlyn

Step over Lara Croft, there’s a new tomb-raiding archaeologist in town, and she’s even sometimes British. Safari Caitlyn is after the remains of long-lost civilizations to both her classes and the world at large. Plus, she’s never afraid. Armed with a rifle, knowledge, and her companion Ezreal, there’s nothing Caitlyn can’t conquer.

Lunar Wraith Caitlyn

Release date: January 27, 2016

Cost: 1,350 RP

Lunar Wraith Caitlyn is said to be an ill omen by many, but that could just be anti-demon bias since she comes from the hellish realm. Or it could be because she likes to mess with anyone in her line of sight to catastrophic ends. Either or.

DRX Caitlyn

Release date: June 1, 2023

Cost: 1,350 RP

As an extra prize for winning the 2022 World Championships, DRX team member Deft chose Caitlyn to receive a commemorative skin that year. In Runeterra, DRX Caitlyn is, of course, a massive fan of the Korean esports team.

Rare Caitlyn skins

Caitlyn has one prestige skin so far, though some count it as two based on the change in color chromas. Additionally, she should be getting a new look by the end of 2024.

Prestige Arcade Caitlyn

Release date: June 28, 2019/April 1, 2022

Cost: 200 ME

Going beyond just video games, Arcade Caitlyn has begun appearing as a secret character in the Arcade universe. Riot released a second version of the Prestige Arcade Caitlyn skin in 2022, made available to players who already purchased the outfit back in 2019. The new model in-game includes more purple in her design.

Fans looking for new Arcane-related skins will likely have to wait until after the Season 2 release in this upcoming November. Otherwise, they’ll have to make do with the cast of skins available in-game now.
