Here are all of the playable FragPunk characters

Which of the 10 FragPunk characters is the best? There’s only one way to find out until the game releases.

FragPunk is one of the newest games on the scene to try and break into the tactical shooter game market. Developers have tried to make the 5v5 hero shooter more unique by adding card mechanics so no two rounds are ever alike. Additionally, most weapons only have a limited number of uses, encouraging players to think more strategically. Following the end of the closed alpha test, players reported enjoying the mechanics and the variety of characters known as lancers.

Though there isn’t an official release date yet, here are all of the known FragPunk characters and abilities.

Axon

Abilities

• Sticky Fingers: Bouncing sticky grenade that detonates upon hitting enemy or the timer runs out
• Electric Guitar: Throws two sticky fingers bombs at close range enemies, replenishes two uses per kill
• Super Freak: Immune to visual disturbances

Even in the FragPunk universe, being a career musician is a tough gig, even when one is as clearly talented as Axon is. Alas, he’ll have to stick to his day job of lancing until he makes it big.

Broker

Abilities

• Goddard’s Vengeance: Shoulder-mounted rocket with explosive damage, knocks back in-range opponents
• Smokestack Lightning: Throwable smoke screen
• Cherry Bomb: Throwable that generates several energy bombs upon impact

Broker is a FragPunk character who’s both a financial genius and an explosive fan. It makes as much sense as anything else, as does his team of lancers dedicated to shard missions.

Corona

Abilities

• Fast Lane: Short-distance dash
• Ashes to Ashes: Throwable that does minor damage over time in the “war zone,” provides speed and damage reduction to Corona while in zone
• Hothead: Blinds front-facing enemies looking at Corona

Unfortunately, Corona is a bit of a mystery. His lancer information card is locked, aka scribbled out. A close eye can pick out that he was a dedicated warrior, but not much besides that and his civilian name of Chad Boswell is actually known.

Hollowpoint

Abilities

• One Last Kiss: Single-shot electromagnetic sniper rifle, reveals enemies in downsights
• Smoke Screen: Forward-moving smoke screen
• Paparazzi: Trap that automatically exposes enemies, can be destroyed or retrieved

Give a woman a weapon, she’ll kill for a day. Frame a woman for a failed mission and allow her to steal a super-powered sniper rifle, she’ll emerge victorious for a lifetime. Hollowpoint can neither confirm nor deny that this happened.

Jaguar

Abilities

• Live Wire: Electric shock that deals damage and slows enemies, tags Hunter’s Last Gift
• Electric Avenue: Puts electric cages around frontward enemies, tags Hunter’s Last Gift
• I Can See for Miles: Displays number and direction of enemies, detects low health and enemies tagged Hunter’s Last Gift

An electrifying FragPunk character, most of Jaguar’s abilities revolve around electricity. He was taken from his home with the tapirs in the Balamtok rainforest and seeks revenge on his “rescuers.”

Kismet

Abilities

• Hello, Goodbye: Frontal scan of all enemies in range
• Misery Angel: Bomb that ignores barricades
• Walk on the Wild Side: Enter Rift Walk stage and become invisible and invulnerable, unable to see other lancers and gadgets

Once a sheltered girl within a magical shard, Kismet grew into a worldly wanderer who now seeks to help anyone that she can. Sometimes, bombs help people. Apparently. According to Kismet.

Nitro

Abilities

• Chug Chug: Tactical remote combat drone
• The Wall: Three-piece shield of cover
• Mr. PewPew: Automatic sentry turret

Nitro has a hot temper and a self-made drone, one possibly triggering the other to attack any lancers who annoy her. Ultimately, she’s searching for the truth behind her mom’s disappearance and making machines along the way.

Pathojen

Abilities

• Emotional Rescue: Throwable that heals all allies in range
• Shroom Wall: Destructible fungus wall
• Killer Queen: Manual or triggered trap that deals damage over time

Originally a medical mycologist, a lab accident caused Pathojen to pivot her mushroom knowledge into becoming a lancer. She still loves the healing power of a good fungi.

Serket

Abilities

• Station to Station: Places beacon that allows teleportation to
• Gold Dust Woman: Dust tornado that binds and slows enemies
• Dilemma: Throwable that pulls enemies towards it

Although Serket claims to be a demigoddess of the desert from the shards themselves, sources are uncertain. Some say that the FragPunk event twisted her mind, while others say she was just a regular executive. Whatever the truth is, the best backstory is whatever lets them stay alive.

Zephyr

Abilities

• Midnight Rambler: Full or semi-invisibility with only melee use, deactivates after firearm use
• Fade Away: Mark area for full invisibility with midnight rambler
• Dagger Beacon: Dagger that can be teleported to

Finally, Zephyr is the last FragPunk character on the list but certainly not the least. She appears to be a living weapon for the Kepler Corp and can exhibit unusual behavior. However, she also loves cotton candy, so Zephyr can’t be that scary. Right?

Every FragPunk character is unique in style, gameplay, and personality. Hopefully, players will soon have the chance to experiment and find their favorite lancer.
