Nyatasha Nyanners is one of the most popular independent vtubers with a surprisingly storied past, and some fans wonder if she’s ever had a face reveal.
Nyanners began her vtuber career in 2020, but she’s been around for a long time. The oldest video on her YouTube channel is dated April 2011, nearly a decade before her vtuber debut. Nyanners became famous in anime communities for her profanity-ridden parodies, song covers, and manga dubs. Going from internet anime comedian to fully-fledged vtuber was a natural evolution for Nyanners. The famous gremlin eventually joined the vtuber group VShojo and celebrated 250,000 Twitch followers during her debut for the group. However, she left VShojo in April 2023, choosing to become an independent creator again.
A few months later, Nyanners reached another milestone in her long career.
Nyanners officially did a face reveal on August 2023, but longtime fans will know she casually did so years ago. In August 2023, Nyanners cosplayed as her vtuber model and did a face reveal. Many fans cheered Nyanners on, raining compliments on their favorite vtuber.
Her more experienced fans expressed shock at how ageless she was. Nyanners posted real-life photos of herself on multiple social media platforms in the early 2010s before reverting to a mostly anonymous internet life. She expressed anxiety during the 2023 live stream and hid her face after only a few minutes of shenanigans.
Nyanners jokes that some of her viewers already know her face reveal from before and laments that they saw her during her “awkward phase.” She also appeared multiple times in her boyfriend Aethel’s streams, who in contrast doesn’t mind having his face seen so often.
Although most vtubers remain quite dedicated to anonymity, plenty have done face reveals. VShojo’s Apricot/Froot has revealed her face on Twitter. Fellow VShojo talent kson takes it a step further and splits her content evenly between IRL and vtuber.
Vtubers are still a growing industry, and while there are no set rules, most agree that face reveals remain exciting events when they happen.
