The hardest track on Trackmania has just been conquered twice in a single day both within a few hours of each other.
Gamers should enjoy games however they want. There’s no shame in playing something casual with friends or an action-free trek through a story-based linear adventure. Still, one of the most popular and fun things to watch on Twitch is skilled players taking on the most difficult games. Trackmania is one of the popular games in this subgenre. Initially developed in 2003, the franchise remains a cult classic, with its 2020 iteration holding onto a dedicated fanbase. The Trackmania community and the devs regularly hold tournaments for the game, further strengthening its fandom.
And recently, the fandom was abuzz with excitement over two massive milestones achieved on the same day.
Brendan “Bren” Seve is the first person to beat Deep Dip 2, the hardest track in Trackmania.
Bren’s journey to finishing Deep Dip 2, much like Trackmania itself, had many ups and downs. The community considers him a trailblazer in the community, finding solutions to routes many had long deemed impossible. Still, the Trackmania team reveled in challenging its players, as it did with the infamous Deep Dip track.
The Deep Dip track consisted of a 14-floor map with a “simple” goal of reaching the top. However, one mistake on Deep Dip will send the errant driver to the bottom. Bren conquered the map that same month, showcasing his natural skill in Trackmania. Of course, with Trackmania’s regular updates, it was only a matter of time before something new came along.
Deep Dip 2 launched for Trackmania in May of 2024. The map was even harder than its predecessor, with 16 floors and even more unfair obstacles. For an entire month, it proved impregnable. Even those at the peak of Trackmania found the 16-tower floor a Sisyphean task with the boulder being a very fast car. YouTuber Wirtual gave up on the run after a month, and he was the person who announced the map in the first place.
Still, through sheer grit and skill, Bren finally beat Deep Dip 2 in June 2024, just over a month after Deep Dip 2’s release. A mere two hours later, Filip “eLconn21” Sprungl beat Deep Dip 2, fitting as the top two players. Unlike Bren, eLconn took a more daredevil approach to the map, making him one of the most entertaining streamers of the challenge.
With two records set, fans wait to see who finishes as the third top dog on Trackmania’s hardest track.
