Twitch issued a ban for the H3 Podcast, and fans now wonder if Hasan may have had something to do with it.
Streaming platforms are no strangers to drama, but 2025 has been especially rife with controversy. Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker, the prominent political streamer, is at the center of many such controversies. In March 2025, HasanAbi was banned for reportedly breaking Twitch’s community guidelines. Some speculate it was related to HasanAbi calling for U.S. Senator Rick Scott to potentially be murdered.
Twitch notably unbanned HasanAbi within just 24 hours, which led many fans to accuse the platform of favoritism. These accusations have been around for a while, as Hasan has historically never been banned for longer than a week. Ethan Klein of the H3 Podcast livestreamed his reaction to the HasanAbi controversy, only to get hit with a sudden ban of his own.
H3 received a ban on Twitch for reportedly “glorifying extreme violence” while reviewing content HasanAbi created. The H3 Show livestreamed their breakdown of the HasanAbi drama for two hours before they received a 30-day ban. They revealed the reason to be “Encouraging or Glorifying Extreme Violence.” Ethan quickly pulled up the ban reason on his phone and showed it to the live audience as proof.
Nobody on the H3 show specifically called for violence throughout the stream. Instead, the ban came from their reactions to clips of HasanAbi’s inflammatory comments. While HasanAbi did get a ban for his comments, he only received a day-long ban. While it’s possible that H3 can appeal for the ban, the sharp contrast in ban lengths was more than enough for viewers to double down on accusations of favoritism.
The feud between HasanAbi and H3 has existed for a while. Ethan has accused Hasan in the past of antisemitism, and their opposing political views have led to much discourse. In February 2025, Ethan dropped a video titled “Content Nuke – Hasan Piker” which detailed the many controversies that surrounded the political streamer.
Hasan claimed the content nuke “did not work” and believes H3 will instead keep escalating the accusations without accompanying proof. Ethan promised a second video on Hasan to follow his content nuke, though a release date was not given. HasanAbi has not reacted to H3’s Twitch ban as of this writing. As tensions rise between the two streamers, fans are more concerned about Twitch’s attitude.
Despite heavy criticism, Twitch still features many controversial streamers focused on politics. Regardless of political alignment, Twitch has shown an inconsistency in the ban lengths of political streamers. Statements that break Twitch’s guidelines, such as encouraging violence against a group of people, can go unnoticed unless people stir discussion and drama around it.
In 2024, it got concerning enough that U.S. Congressman Ritchie Torres wrote a letter to Twitch executives alleging that Hasan Piker was only the “tip of the iceberg” for a bigger problem on the platform.
UPDATE: Twitch has rescinded the H3 channel’s 30-day ban just hours after instituting it. The company has not yet given reason for the reversal of the ban.
