The penultimate group in Season 15 of the ESL Pro League is in the books, with Spanish side Movistar Riders somewhat surprisingly claiming the top spot. The final day of play saw Players claim second place in a direct head-to-head with competitors Team Liquid.
BIG managed to save face in their meaningless match against Godsent, as the Germans were out of contention for a playoff spot coming into the day.
The German team only secured victories against the smaller teams in the group, the aforementioned Godsent, and Party Astronauts.
Movistar Riders completed the unbeaten run against Party Astronauts. The American team did manage to win a map, their first in Season 15.
For the Riders, topping the group is an unexpected result, as the Spaniards were considered outsiders for a spot in playoffs at best.

In the only game that still carried some significance on the final day of Group C, Players secured the better playoff seed over Team Liquid.
The Russian squad dominated Liquid’s map pick, Dust II, winning the series opener 16-1. Going into Overpass, Liquid made it a more competitive affair but ended up falling short, dropping the map 16-11.
But Players’ victory comes bitters sweet, as they could now face either Fnatic or FaZe Clan, instead of ENCE and Entropiq.
Group C’s final standings are:
W | L | |
---|---|---|
Movistar Riders | 5 | 0 |
Players | 4 | 1 |
Team Liquid | 3 | 2 |
BIG | 2 | 3 |
Godsent | 1 | 4 |
Party Astronauts | 0 | 5 |
