GoldenEye 007: the favorite game of every ’90s kid.
The thing is, it isn’t as fun as you remember it being. I’ve played it recently. It’s a pretty basic shooter with laughably bad graphics compared to today’s standard.
Still, there’s nothing like a strong dose of nostalgia, for which GoldenEye is perfect to anyone who had an N64 back in the day.
The hours of multiplayer entertainment aren’t over, as Nintendo announced that they’d be bringing GoldenEye 007 back – this time to their modern console.
Will the Nintendo Switch version of GoldenEye be any better? Probably not. It’s been remastered before, but no one was able to recapture the magic of the original – partially because the original’s magic was largely tied to the time in which it was released.
Regardless, members of the Nintendo Switch Online can play GoldenEye 007 when it hits the Switch – no specific date on it yet.
The announcement came during a recent Nintendo Direct stream that was, largely, highlighted by the release date announcement for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
We’ll keep this article updated when we hear a concrete release date for the return of 007.
I’m not too excited to try it on the Switch. The Switch might be the worst console ever released for first-person shooters, and GoldenEye doesn’t hold up the way some people may hope.
