After losing in the LEC 2025 Spring split’s upper bracket semifinals, Fnatic will now face off against GIANTX in the lower bracket quarterfinals, and many fans want to know whether GIANTX has any upset potential with elimination on the line.
The LEC Spring season’s playoffs kicked off with the top four teams placed in the upper bracket. Fnatic may have been placed second in the regular season, but the team lost to G2 and found itself in the lower bracket. Here, Fnatic will now face off against GIANTX, the team that ranked fifth in the regular season.
Elimination is on the line in this match, while the winner will reach the lower bracket semifinal. With G2 guaranteed a spot in the grand final and awaiting potential challengers, both of these teams will have to win three consecutive matches to secure their place there.
GIANTX started the ongoing LEC split by losing to Fnatic, and while the team won enough times to secure a spot in the playoffs, its playing style didn’t see much in the way of change along the way. The team’s lack of a cohesive strategy usually forces GIANTX’s players to form a plan on the fly, and that doesn’t always go well.
The team may have showcased good gameplay in the Winter LEC’s regular season, but its players don’t seem to be on the same page anymore. GIANTX’s jungler also leaves much to be desired, as he consistently gets outplayed in ganks and objective acquisition, and the same may happen against Fnatic’s Razork.
Fnatic has had a rather shaky split filled with highs and lows. The team’s early loss against SK Gaming was a shock to many, though Fnatic returned after stronger than before. While the team was generally playing well throughout the regular season, it stumbled near the end, and that low period carried over to the playoffs.
Fnatic’s best performers usually include Humanoid, Razork, and Mikyx, though Humanoid has thrown a handful of recent games. Oscarinin is a bit of an anomaly, since he has the mechanical skills expected from a professional player, but tends to take unnecessary fights that put his team at a disadvantage.
Below are the rosters and roles of both teams.

GIANTX continues to change around its picked champions, so it’s tough to predict the team’s draft. Some of the team’s most common champions include Sejuani, Skarner, Azir, Azreal, Corki, and Neeko.
Fnatic’s Humanoid and Oscarinin are the team’s only two players who typically experiment with their picks. The other three stick close to what they know, which includes picks like Pantheon, Varus, Nautilus, and Rakan.
GIANTX is coming off two consecutive wins in the ongoing LEC’s regular season, though the team stumbled often prior to those wins.
Fnatic may have been going strong when the LEC’s regular season concluded, but the team lost its first playoffs match against G2.
Fnatic and GIANTX have battled it out on the big stage seven times, and Fnatic has emerged the victor each every time. A win here by Giantx would be the first in the series’ history.
Considering the difference in performance between the two teams in the regular season, it makes sense that Fnatic is the clear favorite to win with a betting line of 6.60. GIANTX’s 1.10 establishes it as a major underdog.
Fnatic may be coming off a loss against G2, but the team’s recent performance otherwise has already established it as a strong favorite to win here in the playoffs. GIANTX has stumbled constantly on its way to the playoffs, and while the team won two matches in the end, they were against Heretics and BDS who were both ranked in the bottom five.
While Fnatic is known to often get overconfident, the same likely won’t happen against GIANTX, primarily because of the risk of elimination looming in the background. Fnatic’s overall more aggressive style is difficult to deal with given how well-organized the team can still be, coupled with the side’s unpredictable roaming habits that single out enemy champions. This may all prove too much for GIANTX.
