Team Deathmatch in Valorant hasn’t received an update in a long time, and now Riot Games is shaking things up with Glitch, a new map.
Valorant offers two Deathmatch modes: the classic Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch (TDM). Classic Deathmatch takes place randomly on all ranked-mode maps, while TDM provides a more structured, 5v5 team experience. TDM maps aren’t entirely new but are a combination of various sections from existing maps, giving them a unique feel while still being familiar to seasoned players.
There are currently only four TDM maps, but Riot is adding a new one. Glitch has been teased in the Valorant Episode 9 Act 3 trailer as a combination of two iconic Valorant maps.
Valorant’s new TDM map Glitch is set in a wintry version of Haven and an abandoned Sunset, but with a twist. While certain sections resemble parts of Sunset, the overall layout doesn’t align as expected. The same goes for areas inspired by Haven’s design. This disjointed structure is why the map is called Glitch. it’s meant to throw off Valorant players with its intentionally confusing design.
The map has a symmetrical layout, so players will find it easy to learn the three lanes. It has tons of verticality, making it ideal for Jett players, but Neon players will have an advantage too, thanks to an enclosed interior outer lane. Riot designed the spawn areas to prevent players from camping in safety. The spawn is open to all three lanes, encouraging players to move out quickly rather than staying inside.
The release date for the new TDM map Glitch is November 10, the same day as Valorant patch 9.10.
Valorant Episode 9 Act 2 is stacked with new updates and content. Besides a brand new Doombringer bundle, regen shield, and potentially an Arcane skin line, this act will also heavily buff Pheonix. Players will be able to enjoy all of that when the new patch goes live in November.
