The upper bracket finals of the LCK Cup 2026 takes place on February 21st, featuring Gen.G and BNK FEARX. The winner heads to the grand finals and books their ticket to First Stand 2026. The loser gets a second shot in the lower finals on February 28th. Gen.G are heavy favorites, but BFX already beat T1 to make it there.
Here’s our LCK Cup 2026 playoffs upper bracket finals preview, and our Gen.G vs BFX betting tips.
Gen.G was the overwhelmingly dominant team in all of 2025, losing a total of five series over the entire year. While they faltered at Worlds as per usual, they came back in full force for the LCK Cup.
Gen.G heads into the match-up with a series score of 6-0. In fact, they even boast a game score of 14-1 – and they finished up in gold in their single loss. The only blemish to their record is that they haven’t faced T1. With their roster of legends, T1 is the only team that could potentially challenge them, even if unlikely to.
However, BFX has just won against Faker’s team and kicked them down to the lower bracket. So, what does that make them?

What does that make them? Most likely, not enough. However, their chances might exist.
BFX partly won against T1 as a result of the World champions’ long-standing issues. T1 once again showed that they were shaky on a couple of meta champions; and namely, Faker’s Aurora disappointed once more.
This wasn’t the whole story, though. FEARX also took a game off of Faker’s Azir and Keria’s Thresh, two hallmark champions of theirs. BFX won by being great and not just thanks to T1 being in a slump.
What’s more, Gen.G got to pick their opponent for their first playoffs match, and they preferred facing Dplus Kia over BFX. Granted that this isn’t surprising – Gen.G has won against DK 21 times in a row and DK had a lower standing than FEARX. Still, Ruler did predict that BFX would win against T1.

Those not-so-grounded arguments are all the hopium that BFX fans have access to. While they’ve earned their way to the top 3 of the LCK, they’re facing the strongest team any league has ever seen (regionally, that is), in peak shape.
Gen.G is the wise LoL bet for this series. As a reminder, only two teams were able to win a Best of 5 against Gen.G in all of 2025. Even as an underdog’s bet, picking BFX is ill-advised.
Fortunately for them, should they lose against Gen.G, they’ll have a second chance at qualifying for First Stand. BFX would drop into the loser’s finals, where they’re likely to face T1 again. Having just won against them, they definitely have their chances to play in Brazil.
