Gen.G and T1 are both sitting around the top of the standings in the LCK Rounds 1-2 2026. While both of them are almost guaranteed to finish in the upper half of the league, this match will be crucial in the race for top two, strongly increasing the chances of qualifying for the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational.
The best team in the LCK goes up against the best team of all time. Which one will prevail?
Betting tips: While the standings haven’t caught up yet, Gen.G is once again the fearsome team everyone knows them to be. T1 has recovered as well, but domestic T1 doesn’t stand much of a chance against Gen.G.
My Gen.G vs T1 pick: Over 2.5 maps at 1.95 odds at GG.BET.

At the beginning of the LCK Rounds 1-2, the standings in the league were nothing like they usually are. The top three were KT Rolster, Hanwha Life Esports, and Dplus KIA, only then followed by Gen.G and T1.
Now that Round 1 is over, things have returned to normal. HLE is still uncontested at the top, but it’s Gen.G and T1 who follow them. KT is also there, and no one knows what to expect from them anymore.
Since their shortcomings in the first three weeks, Gen.G has been undefeated over six matches. Granted, they’ve yet to rematch HLE, KT, and DK, who gave them their three losses. Even during the early weeks though, their 2-0 against T1 looked effortless.
Gen.G is a solid team that’s particularly hard to crack. In lane, they seem to generate more gold than their opponents by having better movement around the map. Then, they solidify their lead thanks to a unique, aggressive approach to vision. The team places vision around objectives way ahead of time, then goes to defend it and replace it further up, either forcing fights or eliminating the possibility of contesting anything.
T1, on the other hand, is much less methodical in the LCK. While they mostly play cleanly at Worlds, they tread the needle and regularly err on the wrong side of it. This gives them the ability to find their way back into any game, just as well as to need to find their way back in the first place.

Historically, Gen.G is T1’s kryptonite so long as the tournament is not named Worlds. To make matters worse here though, they seem to be back as at least one of the two powerhouses of the LCK. Their approach to League should be able to once again choke T1 out of the game.
Our Gen.G vs T1 prediction: Gen.G as the match winner 2-1 at 1.53 odds via GG.BET.
