As the round 1 of the 2026 Season of the LCK draws to a close, Gen.G goes up against Nongshim RedForce. Both teams are currently tied at 4-3 alongside Dplus KIA, but they enter this match-up with drastically different goals. NS wants to finally break the top 5 barrier, while Gen.G needs to prove they’re still the best team in the world.
Betting tips: Gen.G should come out on top with only little doubt. While they’re showing more cracks than they have in years, their series against DN Soopers was a good reminder that they’ve still got it against the lower-ranked opponents.
My Gen.G vs Nongshim RedForce pick: Under 2.5 maps at 1.49 odds at GG.BET.

Gen.G is an enigma. They spend years as the very best team in the LCK (at least for 11 months a year). Now, that spot is somehow KT Rolster’s while they’ve collected their third loss this split. The last time that they had lost three series in a single regular season was three years ago.
On the other hand, all those losses are against the other top four teams. Every team in the lower half is no match for them, and Gen.G proved it by smashing DNS 2-0.
That being said, Nongshim is just as much of a top four team. NS has yet to face the two legends of the LCK in Gen.G and T1, though. However, as of now, they’ve also been able to punch at this weight. Gen.G’s challenger beat both DK and BFX 2-0.
Nongshim’s issue is consistency. Each of their players can reach great heights, but they also often don’t. Because of that, NS lost to Kiwoom DRX and also gave a game to HANJIN BRION.
Inconsistency does not forgive when going up against Gen.G. The LCK champions cover their bases and they do it excellently. Laning, wave management, objective setup, teamfights, understanding of their comp, they don’t falter on these. When G2 Esports beat them, it was because they somehow outclassed Gen.G rather than the LCK representatives failing.
So why they’re struggling in the LCK now is the question, and the one doubt in what would have otherwise been a clear-cut prediction.

While the two teams are tied, NS hasn’t truly proven themselves in the long run, and they’ve only beaten DK among the higher-tier teams. While Gen.G is showing an unprecedented form, they still have more than what it takes to beat them.
Our Gen.G vs Nongshim RedForce prediction: Gen.G as the match winner 2-0 @1.13 odds at GG.BET.
