G2 Esports have reached the LoL First Stand Knockout Stage against all expectations. Now, they face Gen.G in the semifinals – the best team in the world. Obviously, Gen.G is poised to win the match and the tournament. Does G2 stand any chance against the LCK juggernaut?
Betting tip: Gen.G has yet to lose a match this year, and this team has even only lost two maps across ten series. The real question is whether G2 can add a third one to their record, but Gen.G will win the match.
My Gen.G vs G2 Esports pick: Under 3.5 maps at 1.73 odds at GG.BET.

Gen.G is the best team in the world. The single weakness of this squad is Worlds Semifinals. Being unable to time travel, G2 will not manage to exploit that weakness.
To put things into perspective:
Gen.G has the best player in the role in all five of them. Taking the bright spots for G2, Steven “Hans Sama” Liv had an incredible series against BNK FearX, as did Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan. Rasmus “Caps” Winther found his form back as the series went on, and the rest of the team did fine. In this very positive context, those players still aren’t on the level of their Gen.G counterparts.
The LCK’s first seed feels like an inevitability. In their opening match, several JDG laners managed to get kills on the Gen.G members early on, and it never mattered. The Gen.G members get more minions, more turret plates, to the point where it feels like they somehow just generate more gold than their opponents. No matter what the opponent does, how much of a fight they put up, the best LoL team in the world is simply ahead.
Besides their laning, one reason behind Gen.G’s dominance is their objective setup. This team works on the minion waves then puts river and jungle vision entire minutes before the objective spawns. That allows them to catch the opponents in their own set up. With G2’s occasional lack of discipline on that aspect, this is yet another reason to bet on the LCK.

Before thinking about winning the match or even taking a game, G2 already only has a slim chance of taking an inner turret. This is a 3-0 for Gen.G.
