Despite this year’s MSI tournament still being in its early stages, the favorites to win have already been made clear. Gen.G stands at the forefront as the favorite to win it all because of its recent perfect performance and the fact that it won last year’s MSI. Anyone’s Legend is one of the few teams with the apparent talent to give Gen.G a run for its money, and the two teams will now face off in the second round.
Betting tip: While AL is a strong team, Gen.G may be the team to side with in this match thanks to its newfound confidence and its established consistency.
It isn’t hard to see why Gen.G is the favorite to win the entire tournament. The team didn’t lose a single match in the last LCK split, which already speaks volumes about its players. Kiin is consistent enough to ensure he never feeds the enemy, utilizing his map awareness and game knowledge. While he gets overshadowed by his higher-performing teammates, he’s an excellent player in his own right.
Most of Gen.G’s drafts and strategies revolve around Chovy and Canyon, and the two players haven’t let the team down yet. Canyon’s objective acquisition is excellent, and Chovy frequently gets a significant gold advantage against the enemy’s mid laner before roaming to help the bottom lane or assist in getting objectives. This basic strategy has worked like a charm so far, and it all comes together thanks to Ruler and Duro putting constant pressure in the bot lane.
While this is the first time Anyone’s Legend has made it to MSI, the team is already making waves. Its win against FlyQuest was a testament to how strong the squad is, with Shanks being the standout player. The mid laner’s mechanical skills shine in every encounter with the enemy, and his experience ensures he usually comes out on top after every exchange.
Shanks is a good player in his own right, but his synergy with Tarzan benefits the entire team through more objective acquisition and more informed ganks. Flandre is an extremely aggressive top laner, but he always initiates with a strategy in mind. Hope didn’t perform as well as expected against FlyQuest in most of that series’ games, but the team can likely rely on Kael for good crowd control and initiation.

Considering Anyone’s Legend’s lack of presence in most international tournaments, it makes sense that the team hasn’t yet faced off against Gen.G. This will be the first meeting between the two sides.
Gen.G is going into the match with an impressive winning streak that includes teams like HLE and T1.
Anyone Legend went undefeated throughout the last LTA North split and entered MSI 2025 with a bang against FlyQuest.

While AL is looking extremely strong, the team’s lack of experience in large-scale international tournaments can’t be ignored. Defeating FlyQuest was impressive, but FlyQuest’s poor drafting played a sizable role in that result, especially considering Hope’s questionable performance. With Gen.G’s individual talent and experience, Shanks and Hope will be unlikely to become the carries AL needs them to be, increasing Gen.G’s chances of success.
Our Gen.G vs AL prediction: Gen.G as the match winner 3-2 at 1.4 odds at GG.BET.
