However, this was just one incident and I found that user reviews were generally very positive about their sportsbook or casino experience.

The next stage of the Betway review was to try out the site to see what the user experience was like. This provided a handy follow on to my earlier usability test, so I tried to place a bet and play one of the many slots available.

The process was easy, and while I have experience placing bets, I feel an absolute beginner would also find the simple steps involved very easy. The same could be said for finding a game in the casino, as they are sorted by type, and it is easy to understand what each game entails by clicking on the ‘i’ symbol.

Finding my account details was every bit as simple, as my username and balance were displayed in the top right corner. A click there displayed all my other account details and account options like changing my password, making a deposit or asking for help.

The same usability and excellent customer experience was also in evidence with their mobile app. The apps are both downloadable from the approved app stores and while for this Betway review I was using an Android device, the reviews for the Apple version also show that to be excellent. The layout is broadly similar but the smaller screen means that some of the options can be found in a menu at the bottom of the screen as well as the top.

I was able to complete all of the functions on my phone that I could on the website and probably didn’t even need to visit the desktop site at all to get started.

One of the functions that I found easy on both the app and the desktop site was making a deposit. There were all of the usual banking and card options available, which would have been important if I was looking for a betting site that uses credit cards, as well as various e-Wallet options.

Regardless of which method I would have picked I would have been shown both the minimum and maximum deposits and any amount should have appeared in my account all but instantly.

Many of these options were also available for withdrawals but the time scales here were a little greater. Before any withdrawal was requested it was necessary to complete the KYC process which meant providing government issued photo ID backed with other documentation containing my address.

🌍 Prohibited Countries – Betway is active in many countries worldwide

While Betway is active in many countries for sports if not casino, there are of course, some countries they are prohibited from. These tended to be countries where Betway were yet to have a presence, or where online gambling in any form was entirely illegal – for example Bosnia and  Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Palestine or Lithuania.

One area of this Betway review where I have to mark them down slightly is with the lack of loyalty program. Should one arrive I expect it to take the same shape as the Betway plus program that it operates in some other territories. Tthis operates in the same way as many other loyalty programs where players collect points for their betting activity which can be exchanged for various rewards. I should mention that Betway does have a VIP level but that is by invite only.

This does not mean that Betway does not offer anything for regular bettors as I found there were several additional promotions available. These were dependent on current events like the enhanced parlay option for NFL games. The highlight of the additional casino promotions were the daily deal which is tailored to the individual players style.
