I’ve been checking out the best POLi betting sites, and I’ve created this short guide so you can see all the benefits of this fast, secure payment method. It’s mostly used in NZ and Australia, but is catching on fast.
As you go through this guide, I’ll go in-depth about why using POLi means you never have to share your bank details with a sportsbook. Whilst important, that’s just the tip of the iceberg, as you’ll also get the facts about fees, deposits, withdrawals and even bonus availability. By the end, you’ll know if POLi is right for you.
Getting started with online betting using POLi is far from difficult, and that makes it very appealing. When it comes to getting the most from the experience though, I’ve found a little background knowledge can go a long way. In short using POLi removes the need to share your details with sports betting sites when you make a deposit – something which I think is safer and more convenient,
It’s a payment processor, a sort of middleman between your account and the POLi bookmakers, so there is no need to open another account or fund it like you would with an eWallet. I’ve found it is becoming more popular, but is currently restricted to just certain banks in New Zealand and Australia.
So, it’s not like it’s limited to just a few people – but all the same it is not supported as widely as debit cards for example.
Feature ⭐ | Availability ✔️❌ | Notes 🗒️ |

Secure | Yes | Encryption in place, you are not sharing account details |
Deposits | Yes | Funds for deposits should be available instantly |
Withdrawals | Limited | Not supported by all banks, and limits can be low |
Fees at bookmakers | No | Check with your bank to see if they impose a processing charge |
Availability | Limited | Can only be used at supporting banks in New Zealand and Australia |
Available for bonuses | In some regions | Check the T&Cs of the offer for details |
The key selling point for POLi is its simplicity, and when I used it myself, I found that this is no idle boast. By way of demonstration, I’ll take you through the process step by step, as I did in my BPAY betting sites. That way, regardless of what your experience with sportsbooks and payment methods is so far, you’ll know how it all works.
As POLi doesn’t work with every bank, your first step here is to make sure your account holder supports POLi. If you have an account with an AUS or NZ bank, chances are it will be, but you should check so there are no nasty surprises.
Next, as there is no POLi account to open, or eWallet to fund as you would to use Quickteller betting sites, you can get straight into finding the right sportsbook for you. There should be no shortage of options, but I’ve done what I can to make it easier by putting links to a few of the most highly rated brands on the banners of this page. In some areas, you’ll also be able to see the welcome bonuses that are available when you sign up.
Once you’ve made your choice, register with the sportsbook by setting up your account and providing the necessary details like DOB and address so they can check you are old enough to join and in a legal location. This should not take long, and when you have access to your new account go to the cashier section to make your first deposit.
Select ‘POLI’ from the payment options and then follow the onscreen prompts. Once you enter your deposit amount, you’ll get transferred to your online banking app to complete and confirm the process. Your deposit should be available immediately to bet on the AFL, cricket or whatever takes your fancy.
Of course, it’s not just deposits you are interested in, you’ll also want to know about getting hold of any winnings. While not all banks allow POLi withdrawals, the process is just as simple and again it is a case of following the prompts on screen both at the POLi bookmakers and on your banking app.
Processing times will vary, and you should check the sportsbook T&Cs for when you might see your funds. You still need to do your bit, however, and pass KYC checks and meet any bonus wagering requirements before requesting a withdrawal, as these can cause hold-ups.
Now you’ve seen how easy it is to get started, it’s time to take a closer look at the many upsides of betting sites that accept POLi. I really rate it – so I’ll start with my favorite benefit.
That’s quite a long list of benefits, but there are some areas where POLi falls short, in my opinion at least. So you get the full picture, I’ll take you through these as well.
POLi sports betting has its advantages, and I found it to be one of the fastest and most convenient sports betting payment methods around. That’s not to say it doesn’t have its downsides as well, especially when it comes to making withdrawals and the number of supporting banks.
In this guide, I’ve presented both honestly, so you can make up your own mind about whether POLi is a good fit for you. I’ve also helped you solve the problem of finding the best POLi betting site as well, as the recommendations you’ll see in banners on this page have all been tested and vetted by me, or one of the other reviewers here at Jaxon.gg, and have passed with flying colours. So, whichever one you choose, you know you’ll be in good hands.
In the same way you would find most OPay betting sites in Nigeria, you’ll find the most if not all POLi sportsbooks in Australia and New Zealand. This is because it only works with banks in that region, and if you live outside of that, you’ll need to find an alternative
POLi allows you to make deposits and in some cases withdrawals at Australian and New Zealand sportsbooks without sharing your bank details. Not only is this convenient, safe and fast, it also does not incur any additional fees from the bookmaker.
POLi is fast and convenient for deposits, but can be limited when it comes to making withdrawals. Not all the banks that allow deposits will support withdrawals, and there can be quite low limits to how much you can transfer. To avoid missing out, check with your bank to make sure.
