Joseph Turner, co-founder of Gaimin Gladiators, has accused Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov of lying about his departure from the famed Dota 2 team.
dyrachyo is a Russian Dota 2 player who is currently playing for the Canadian organization Tundra Esports. Before joining Tundra, dyrachyo was a member of Gaimin Gladiators, and during his time with the organization he won multiple major titles and was runner-up at The International twice.
After approximately three years with Gamin Gladiators, dyrachyo was removed from the roster and this move was met with criticism from fans. The player explained his side of things, but it looks like the team disagrees with him. Co-founder of Gaimin Gladiators Joseph Turner called the player out for being dishonest and stirring up drama.
Gaimin Gladiators co-founder Josepth Turner claims that dyrachyo wanted to play for a Russian side, so the team let him go.
Joseph Turner tweeted a synopsis of his version of events that led to durachyo’s removal from Gaimin Gladiators. Turner stated that durachyo wasn’t interested in watching replays or VODs with the team to better his performance. GG’s co-founder claimed dyrachyo was more interested in social media and drinking.
Turner went on to say that dyrachyo wasn’t kicked from the roster but rather that he asked to be released. He said the organization didn’t put any conditions on the players and allowed him to exit despite being under contract. The GG owner stated the team was unhappy because of the player’s actions but still respected his wishes.
The Gaimin Gladiators co-founder likely tried to clear the air because of fans’ reaction to dyrachyo being removed from the roster. After the player’s departure, the organization’s performance has also dropped off, leading to ridicule from fans. Turner’s tweet received much backlash and he ended up deleting his X account as a result.
After his removal from Gaimin Gladiators, dyrachyo stated he was kicked from the team because of a conflict with his teammates.
In an interview, dyrachyo denied being kicked because of performance issues and stated that there were interpersonal issues within the team. He said that he had problems with his teammates, but they had complaints about him. dyrachyo said he had a particular issue with Marcus “Ace” Helgarrd not playing pub games to practice and stay sharp outside of team activities.
The player continued that GG wasn’t content with the season’s result and lost faith in the team’s roster, which resulted in him being removed. He explained that even winning Riyadh Masters 2024 wasn’t enough to prevent the team from revamping its roster.
