The Valorant Masters Bangkok 2025 grand final is here, and the event is concluding with G2 Esports versus T1. While G2 is the favorite to win the upcoming match by a great margin, T1 may have upset potential, especially after T1’s showing against EDG.
Everything in the Valorant Masters Bangkok 2025 tournament has led up to the grand final. While many assumed EDward Gaming would easily make it to the end, that wasn’t the case as the former champions lost to G2 Esports and T1 in back-to-back playoff matches. Now, both teams that defeated former champion EDG are slated to duke it out in the grand final.
The team that wins this upcoming match will take $250,000 as a cash prize along with five VCT Points. Although both teams have played excellently in the tournament so far, defeating strong opposition to make it here, G2’s performance has been much more impressive, especially after the upper bracket finals against EDG.
G2 Esports and T1 are two of the strongest teams in the current field, but G2 has been dominating the playoff with an iron fist. The team remains undefeated in the playoffs while T1 lost on the first day. T1 was able to come back after its loss, but it shows displays the team’s inconsistent performance.
G2’s consistency may be largely thanks to how active the team was in 2024, participating in multiple tournaments and winning the VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff at the start of 2025. By contrast, T1 came second in the VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff, losing to DRX in the grand final.
Not to mention, G2 Esports will have a 2-map ban advantage since it’s the upper-bracket team. T1’s strongest recent map has been Bind, and G2 may ban it to ensure the opposing team can’t benefit. Combined with the recent performances of G2’s star players leaf and trent, G2 may prove to be too much for T1.
Below are the rosters for both teams in the upcoming match.
G2 Esports
T1
G2 Esports has stuck close to its guns by opting to select a handful of agents. These include Breach, Tejo, Omen, Viper, Yoru, and sometimes Vyse or Brimstone. The aggressive play style T1 displayed during the lower bracket final suggests G2 may opt to go for a sentinel-heavy approach while relying on Tejo and Yoru for offense.
T1 has shuffled its team around in every game but the side’s best bet will likely be going with a double-duelist approach. Most games in the playoffs where T1 opted to choose two duelists resulted in the team winning. The team will also likely utilize sentinels like Cypher and Vyse to block off aggressive pushes from G2, especially those backed by Tejo.
G2 Esports and T1 have faced off twice in the last year and both won one match each. The last time the two met on the big stage was during the Red Bull Home Ground #5 offline tournament where the score was one game won for T1 compared to G2’s zero.
The current Valorant Masters Bangkok tournament has seen multiple match-ups, but few have had as big a gap in probability as this upcoming match. G2’s probability of 1.50 compared to T1’s 2.40 odds showcases how well G2 has played recently, making it the favorite in the grand final by a large margin.
T1 isn’t a weak team at all, but its inconsistent performance can’t be ignored. G2’s undefeated streak and competitive map-ban advantage are equally daunting for T1. G2 might go with the same Tejo-centered agent lineup fans saw against EDward Gaming. While T1 did an exceptional job countering the initiator against EDG during the lower bracket final, G2 generally utilizes Tejo’s abilities better, likely making it difficult for T1 to repeat the same strategies.
While T1 will likely give G2 a run for its money in most games, that may not be enough to win even a single game. G2’s consistently good performance coupled with its undefeated streak against Team Vitality and EDG, two teams T1 played closely before winning, may prove to be too much for T1 to handle.
