According to a report from Dexerto, not only will G2 be signing Justin “jks” Savage, they will also be signing Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen… at least for the BLAST Premier Fall Groups anyway.
Whether this is on a stand-in basis or permanently is unclear, but he has been added to their roster for the tournament.
HooXi might be a smart move for the team, but he does come as somewhat of a surprise in comparison to the normal, more high-profile acquisitions G2 – it’s also a move away from the high fragging power of the rest of the roster.
HooXi was a relative unknown before the second Major of 2021, the PGL Major Stockholm, where he and his Copenhagen Flames team came agonisingly close to making the Legends stage.
They did one-up this at the first Major of 2022 however, the PGL Major Antwerp, where they did finish as Legends, eventually being knocked out by ENCE in the quarter-finals.
G2 have struggled this year, so their fans – and star player Nikola “NiKo” Kovac – will be hoping these changes spark a turnaround for the second half of the year.
